Hello,

my laptop (Lenovo IdeaPad L340-15IRH Gaming) ethernet port died. Out of warranty. I have good soldering skills and I want to replace the faulty ethernet port. Can you help me with list of HW compatible & size compatible ethernet ports? Motherboard: lnvnb161216

USB external ethernet is out of question (low on USB ports).

Going by the ports available on your laptop.
Grab yourself a type-C usb hub with a gigabit ethernet port, a lot cheaper and free up some of your usb ports.

any old RJ45 connector should work as long as it looks similar to the one that's already in your laptop

Could You unsolder it and show the pictures of the port itself after it, and the dimensions of the port itself?
And is the damage visible to the port? or it just don't work? And maybe are there cold joints, or cracked solder? Maybe re-flowing it with solder could help?

And how could ethernet port died?
if it has had a cable plugged/unplugged alot it may have worn out the data pins or squished them a bit flat so no longer making good connection
but if it has rarely been unplugged I would be looking at a failed cable first then network controller chip over a port failure
