Request for advice [Big Build]

be quiet! Power Zone 2 1000W ATX 3.1

MSI MPG A1250GS PCIE5 1250W ATX 3.1

Power supply upgrade as suggested by others (not my forte but I'd be opting for 1200w)
I don't like MSI motherboards (but I'm scared to recommend ASRock with the 9800X3D issues they have) but my B650E Taichi Lite would be ideal.
I'd also be going for 2x 32 of G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO CL30 6000 ram (I went RGB but that up to you)

If you find a good deal on an X670E or B650E board grab one, there's no real reason to opt for B850/X870 boards.

I don't like MSI motherboards
I've built countless many for friends and family, they've become happy owners ever since.

MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk Max WIFI is looking good

ASUS ROG Strix B850-F Gaming WIFI is also a great option

GIGABYTE X870 AORUS Elite WIFI7 (X870 A ELITE WIFI7) has a white version (marketed as ICE) if you're interested

2x 32 of G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO CL30 6000
Top-notch kit there

CL26 same speed kit is available as well.

I'm scared to recommend ASRock with the 9800X3D issues they have
Hopefully they'll be able to sort things out sooner rather than later and be at the ready when the ZEN6X3D processor (10800X3D) gets launched in 2026.

Yeah my dislike of msi motherboards has been tied to some devices waiting eons for bios fixes in things that other manufacturers fixed more quickly. No hard issues for me just wary of them.

I saw the numbers on the CL26 kits and they were largely useless to the 3D V-cache units (they seem to benefit more from increase clock speed over tighter timings, even if you decoupled the infinity fabric's 1:1 but you have to go big I, north of 7200 iirc) in gaming workloads and the increases weren't even close to justifying the increase in cost per gig.

That has NEVER been the case for me. Their BIOS updates are stable and reliable.

I've mentioned some other manufacturers as well. Great boards, for sure.

The ASRock B850 Steel Legend WiFi DOES also count among them, 4 NVMe drives support, WiFi 7, 14x 80A VCORE, max. DDR5-8000, Realtek ALC4082 Audio and good price too at 200-ish EUR.
Other than the 9800X3D, I'd pair the board with any other including the 9900X3D, 7800X3D (maybe not the 9950X3D, more testing required for that one) with the peace of mind

Good day to you brother from down under :toast:

they were largely useless to the 3D V-cache
ABSOLUTELY, HOWEVER, IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT, WHY NOT GET THE FASTEST RAM THERE IS :peace:

The manufacturer of the 9800X3D has said that 1:1 ratio is the way to go

80 / 90 class GPU buyers could easily purchase the kit, even the 70 Ti class owners as well.

Cheers

@Bagerklestyne @Sunny and 75
The OP has already chosen and purchased their parts. Continuing to argue like this is a waste of time.

@Mendeln
Your current PSU is a solid model and will serve your needs well, don't worry about it. Enjoy your new PC! Rock on!:rockout:
Wasn't arguing merely putting forward a point of view that's somewhat $ modest compared to the op's budget

I yeeted the wrong company under the bus. I stumbled across the old posts I had made and it was NOT MSI I had the issue with, sorry MSI, it was gigabyte.

Apologies for misleading anyone and sledging the all great and powerful MSI (I hope they don't brick my monitor in vengeance)

^^THIS^^
and additional storage drives, as you're gonna need someplace to store your OS & gamz, as well as multiple back-ups of them, unless you are going strictly cloud-only, or just enjoy having to wait for them to load, and/or download them over & over again if/when something goes poopoo :)

Also, I'm not sure if it is still true, but there was a time when Vengeance ram did NOT play nice with AMD rigs.....but perhaps that issue has been resolved by now ?
Get a 4T sata III ssd just for backups and get a copy of clonezilla (free)

Make backups every 2 to 3 days and keep a rotating inventory of backups.
for example: most recent, last week, & last month

Hopefully you never need it, but if you do....

Things have just got interesting <3
VERY interesting, in fact ;)

They're not the sort (Saluting face emoji)

It's alright.
