With Computex 2025 in full swing, we learn that NVIDIA's next "SUPER" refresh may soon arrive: reliable leaker kopite7kimi has dropped fresh rumors surrounding the upcoming GeForce RTX 5080 SUPER. In a recent post on X, the leaker indicated that this new card will continue to use the GB203 GPU, matching the existing RTX 5080's full capacity of 10,752 CUDA cores. The only SUPER improvement lies in memory capacity and speed. Unlike the base model's 16 GB of GDDR7 running at 30 Gbps, the SUPER variant features 24 GB of GDDR7 at 32 Gbps, giving it a 1 TB/s of theoretical bandwidth. This increase in VRAM could yield noticeable benefits in high-resolution gaming and professional workloads that demand extensive frame buffers. Early bandwidth estimates suggest a 6% uplift in throughput when compared to the standard RTX 5080's 960 GB/s.

At the same time, the higher memory density requires denser 3 GB modules, similar to those already used in the RTX PRO 6000. Power requirements will rise accordingly. The SUPER model is rumored to draw over 400 W, about 40 W more than the vanilla RTX 5080's 360 W rating. Now, only NVIDIA's flagship RTX 5090—with 21,760 cores and 32 GB of GDDR7 across a 512‑bit bus—will exceed the 5080 SUPER in both compute and memory resources, not counting the last-generation top-tier RTX 4090. The exact launch date remains unconfirmed. While earlier rumors pointed to a Q4 2025 release, a new schedule could see NVIDIA debut the new card by early 2026 at a major trade show such as CES. Pricing is equally speculative. A possible MSRP target would be between $1,000 and $1,500, and it would be positioned to avoid direct competition with NVIDIA's entry‑level professional Blackwell GPUs. As always, until official announcements are made, specifications and launch windows should be taken with a grain of salt.

The 4090 still says hello. (16384 CUDA cores, 1.01TB/s memory bandwidth)

FMSRP $999, starting street price of $1299, because we all know theyre gonna say “look more vram for the same price” and it’s NEVER going to be the same price.

If it wasn't for its doomed to be ridiculous price I'd consider buying it. Nothing wrong for me personally in this performance and VRAM capacity. 16 GB feels short, 5090 doesn't fit my future PC case.

$1299 is non-Super pricing right now.

It’s a pointless release for anyone but AI bros. In actual practice, it will be maybe margin of error faster than the non-Super version. The great spinning of wheels continues.

Since they usually stop manufacturing the non Super variants that means basically all of these will go to AI workstations. Such a bad time to be a an Nvidia fan because even if you want to you're gonna have trouble giving them your money.

MSRP will land at $1399. Actual retail costs will be pushing $2k.

Basically this Super is going to be like the 4080/4080S - no real performance gains. The only surprise was the 4080S came in $200 under the 4080.

Oh my, are these 3GB modules they could've used on the 5060 and 5060Ti?
Nah that couldn't be, these are magically not available in sizes of 4 a piece.
There must be at least 8 per GPU.

In Europe the pricing is now on the MSRP level, You may even find few cards slightly below it. Of course there's also ~20% VAT tax to be added, but still.

Current stock in the US starts at $1390 and goes all the way up to $1850. These are direct from distribution (Newegg, Amazon, B&H, etc.) pricing, not 3rd party.

Crazy market. I personally admit that those who bought a nvidia 4090 at a certain price did a good job.
Right?! Early 4090 adopters hit the jackpot.

The 4090's probably going down as one of the best buys in PC gaming, up there with the 1080 Ti.

my irl friend offered me a gigabyte 4090 used for 1250 in spring 2023, I still regret not doing it. he was trying to help me out, 7900 xt was 705 brand new no tax basically, and i didn't really think frame gen / dlss was all that big of a deal back then (now I do)

only reason I didn't buy his 4090 is that everyone was freaking out online about power connectors melting and shit, and technically i'd have no warranty with this. so if i was one of the unlucky ones, i would just be out 1250 and im a very risk averse person, so i declined his offer. he bought a 4090 FE for his mini ITX build, is only reason he was selling the bigger 4090.

but yeah, i should have just done it. if it wasn't for nvidia being such a fucking idiot with that power connector i would have had no hesitation.

Worthless if it's going to cost 2K or above like it will
Asus 5080 Astral is already sitting at $1800... expect prices above that for the top of the line cards.

Diablo 4 @ 4K and max settings - My 5090 hits over 21 GB. I don't know if that was the reason for my instability on my 5080 or the drivers... Got the 5090 (different drivers so wasn't a 1-to-1 comparison) and D4 played smoothly...

In the US, we are catching hell. Rarely do we see MSRP on any cards at this time, they are out there every blue moon tho. This past weekend, I've been seeing Microcenter "discount" some cards and that isn't MSRP prices.

Glad I waited
For a few bucks more, snag a 5090...you're on a 4K monitor?

Damn dude... that is one hell of a loss.

I get almost 18 gigs vram usage in Diablo 4 at 1440p on my 7900 xt. It is nice having that extra vram

Yeah it is! 16GB cards @ high resolution are outdated imho. I didn't know D4 demanded that much @ 1440p, but it sure feels good to know you're solid for a few more years.

i mean they cant keep up with demand so they will continue to milk until there's actual competition.

This is like intel's quad core period again - this 4090 will be 6070ti performance - and i will upgrade once every 6 years. They will have to software lock 4x series out of DLSS 5.
