What are you playing?

INZOI... Well, maybe just because the customization is so granular and good hair rendering always catches me.

Lies. XCOM gives you a miss with a 95% to hit on a grenade. I have never met a more unforgiving game.
TRUTH! And I'm playing on Superhuman difficulty where the game AI legit cheats by default. If you take a closer look at those character stats, you'll see I've given myself a bit of an edge. Granted, the game still hands me my hat on a regular basis, which is bloody irritating, but Superhuman difficulty is the only way to see everything in the game. Just yesterday I lost a whole 14 soldier team invading an alien based filled with Ethereal Elites...

Descenders, got the game originally via Humble Bundle. Kinda addicted to it now... and yes I'm dressed as a Flamingo.

Monster Train 2 comes out tomorrow, that's what I will be playing for the next two weeks, then Final Fantasy crossover with Magic the Gathering comes out, and I will be playing that for the rest of June. My summer is filling up fast!

I think it launches at 10am EST time, so yes I will be setting my alarm to play it right when it launches.

The Division (1) w/ heavy ReShade post-processing.

This being a game w/o native 10-bit output and muted colours, running local contrast can often cause significant banding issues on sky/fogs.

Just finished Castlevania from the Castlevania Anniversary Collection (on PC).
What a piece of cake, really easy !
But there is a trick, i've played the Easy version.
In 1986, Konami released Castlevania on Famicom Disk System an on the Euro/US NES - Same game.
In 1993, Konami re-released Castlevania for the Famicom Cartridge, and you can choose the difficulty in this version, Normal (tha game as we know it) and Easy.
So, what the Easy mode brings on the table ?
x2 damages against Bosses (need to check, but it seems normal damages versus standard ennemies)
half damage received
2nd and 3rd sub weapons shoots now stays even after death
many more big hearts in candles
and ... no more being pushed backwards on ennemies hit
It really change the game, and it's cool for the beginner and if you want to reminds the good old times - easy way !
As a huge fan of the franchise, I love this game.
I still remember the day I've get it. I've gave my mother the money to buy a Nes game and a list of game ... She came back with Castlevania.

Red is the color of Level 2 ! Always loved this stage, very well remade in Super Castlevania IV

In the Easy mode, it's were I loose my 1st life. As you can see, Blue is the color here !

The Grim Reaper ... As a kid, I've never managed to go further. I've beaten the game some years ago and took my revenge.

Still Trails in the Sky. The Story has some zest to it.

Also the soundtrack is incredible

Just beat Ghostrunner 2 last night on the default difficulty mode. The penultimate boss fight was not as hard as I first thought, but the final one was way harder than I thought it would be based on some misleading info I read on tactics. It was said you can mostly stay put and let him come to you, but there are a lot of times you have to move well to avoid AOE traps. I ended up dying 314 times before I finally beat him.

Not sure what I'll be playing next, I may finish up Suicide Squad.

I played like 30 minutes of that game and had my fill of it I believe you fully on the death count.

GTA III on PC (with fixes), I'm on my parents and since my laptop isn't going to run any modern titles, at least classics run perfectly fine.

I still find it hilarious that in a 18+ game the swearing is censored on the rap radio station. Found that funny in the early 2000s already

Assassin's Creed: Shadows... Playing it on and off between others. This game has the most intricate dynamic weather system I've ever seen. The wind is an actual fluid-simulation moving through the world and interacting with the environment.

For reference, wasn't that the game that caused such an uproad because it had a black character? WHY CAN YOU RIDE MAGICAL WOLDS IN ASSASSINS CREED? What are those games even about?

Honestly I have no idea what the uproar was about since there was so much, so quickly, I couldn't keep up... The magical beast isn't part of the base game, it's additional content as a reskin of the horse. I haven't played an AC game since AC 4: Black flag, and this is wildly different in terms of freedom and scalability plus the story runs deep in many directions with Japanese, Portuguese and a Black man who was a sword bearer for influential travelers, he was then taken in and turned into the most powerful samurai for one of the leading figures... Now i'm not sure what the controversy was because I remember AC 3: Liberation's main character was black?

But yes, the magical beast is just for show, I usually ride the regular horse because it takes up less space on screen

Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic is on sale, and immedietly I'm a bit intimidated by the fact that you have two currencies, rubles and dollars.

Ubisoft removing The Crew was the point things that had been building up soured immediately. There really isn't much beyond that point that avoids going pretty far from what gets discussed on TPU.

PC gaming has landed in pretty tough spot in general. What I'm trying to say is we stick to what we enjoy for the most part.

I'm making a solid run at both Call of the Wild.

Angler servers are still up and quite active despite the game hitting EOL prematurely. General consensus was experienced lead dev with small and probably less experienced team that were fully appreciating into making a solid game. Intelligent read of how demands unavoidable in current climate were handled speaks quite well of them.

Hunter is about to release a new spate of DLC after absorbing parts or majority of Angler team. Expectations are high following the improvements and depth found in recent additions. Effectively I'm starting the entire game from scratch with every possible option at my disposal. Believe I finally got through to the final unopened map. Where I promptly disregarded story missions in favor of blasting stuff. Quite fun going in blind to a game that can easily take years to fully set up. Exceptional idea of what to do while having no idea where the pieces will fall.

Agree 100% And exactly why I don't know the extent of what went on around AC: Shadows. I ignore the nonsense and if the game is fun, I'll play it. If not, I'll refund it. I can happily say this game is fun from my perspective of not playing AC games in a long time.

Yes, PC gaming is at a low point, but we don't talk about that do we? We indeed stick to what we enjoy! Because with point of entertainment, gaming will exist forever. There's always something new to play.

In RL I’m playing sort the nuts, bolts and washers….

So fun……..…

How many new Games are released a week? How could we say Gaming is in a State when you can get Titanfall 2 for $2 Canadian on sale. I may not use Game pass but it allows you to try a Game so is the cup really half empty or full?

Yeah it's one of those games where some post videos of beating it with no deaths on hardcore mode, one even speedrunning it that way in about 56 min. And then you see the game say at the end after beating it on the default mode that Hardcore mode is unlocked and you're given access to all skills and memory shards from the start on that mode. So then I dream about whether it's possible for me to beat Hardcore with ANY number of deaths, then I wake up and say, wait, this is me, a 67 yr old fart, not likely. Better to move on to another game than have a stroke and regret it.

That said, last night I fired up Uncharted 4 from the Legacy of Thieves Collection. I had been putting off playing it for some time, but I was anxious to see how it looked and played on my new PC at max settings with HDR. With my prior PC there were always huge hitches in the very action heavy scenes where the game is supposed to seamlessly transition between cutscenes and gameplay, sometimes a bit of both via QTE.

So far I have played to the point where you're using a Jeep to look for a volcano, and I must say, the HDR is amazing, and it looks incredible at 4K max settings and 120 FPS, but the best thing is, it's playing pretty darn smooth as well so far. I've seen maybe like 3 times in crossing to other areas with no action or even platforming, a very subtle single micro hitch.

Fingers crossed that in those very action heavy scenes with the train and such the game stays smooth. Part of what might be making the game run better is it got patch 1.4 since I played it last. This is a game I can get lost in for hours, and I even sat through all the cutscenes again in my session last night, despite having played it several times before. I didn't get to bed until 6AM this morn.

By all means knock yourself out in the dollar bin or crushing shovelware. Pretty sure way to avoid most of the worst of what was being talked around. Hard and soft wares.

Point was exploring degenerate toxicity is verboten. Please don't bait it.
