NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 Reportedly Scheduled for July Release

Guessing this will launch at $249 to compete with B580, which is definitely due for a follow-up after its CPU-dependency debacle.

Going to be so amazing. I bet it has like a 10 percent increase in performance over the GTX 1030. But wait there is more. It has Ray Tracing, DLSS, and Frame Gen. Making it as fast as an RTX 4080 at only $249! All this performance is guaranteed. Unless of course you put it in an older system. Or a system that performs the best in memory latency. Then it might be slower. But you would never do that because you get RTX 4080 level performance if you just use a 9800x3d and the fastest memory kits available. And as an added bonus it comes with this low profile PCIE connector. Now with PCIE 4x! It's incredible!

Finally the entry-level GPU market exists again. This opens up options for a lot of people, like kids whose parents won't buy them a $1400 computer, high school graduates who haven't started their career yet, and people who use HTPCs or even NASes in some cases. iGPUs often have limitations other than just performance which necessitates a dGPU even if it's just an entry level card.

A 100(+)w 5050 would be a controversial or questionable entry-level choice and needs a significant price distance from 5060 to be viable. But a cut-down, <75w 5050, even with 6gb of GDDR6 (if needed) to remain slot powered, looks much more interesting. With compact or SFF design it can serve in HTPC or give new value to an older prebuilt, not to mention that it could reach 1070 ti levels of performance...

Just as reference, the younger kids are more than happy with the gtx 1650 and our older son finds the old PC with this 1650 better for gaming compared to his PS4.

Make sure to add only 2 gigabytes of vram on this model an I'm sure it will run smoothly :)

Well this is just a huge middle finger.

Season 5 No GIF by The Office

Nothing mores needs to be said.
One thing needs to be said: Hush up. Some of us want these GPU's.

Article fails to mention a fact, that desktop RTX 4050 was never released. There was no previous generation desktop RTX 4050. There was a mobile version, though.
There was no 2050 either, but there was a 1050. The pattern is that this generation will be the gen for a *50 series set of cards.

We don't need more e-waste just drop the 8GB 5060 price!
What we really don't need is narrow thinking such as this.

Buddy, the 5060 is only 25% faster than the 7600 (Which is basically a 6600).
Did you mean 20% instead of 200%?

Even if it's only 50% faster than a 3050, it'll be a good upgrade for certain users.
50% faster than which version of 3050?

Finally, no product stack is complete without the bottom barrel scrapers. Something for everyone.

Well, let's be honest, it's better to be a bottom barrel scraper than the bottom feeders with their needless whining.. (not directed at you personally, just saying in general.)

lol bottom barrel scrapers have ambition - they've got my respect. Bottom feeders are only good for cardio - no matter how hard you try, you can't squash them ninja wing mosquitos

50 -50

Not great - not terrible.

I see nothing wrong with these low-end 8GB cars so long as the PRICE is low.

This is what will end up in entry-level gaming computers.

These cards are great for people who dabble in gaming and run 1080p monitors which is more people than we might want to believe.

Maybe the bad 6GB version.
Different users, different preferences, that's actually positive. For me, maybe @lexluthermiester and others the weaker 6gb version, without 6-pin connector is the 'good' one.

It's all good. The 3050 6GB is a solid GPU for SFF low profile systems. I currently have a 1050 in my Dell SFF system and I want an upgrade. And before anyone suggests it, the RX6400 is not what I'm looking for.
Exactly. The 6GB 3050is already a massive upgrade, but a <75w 5050 could be 2,5-3 times faster (I don't know if you have 1050 2gb or 1050 ti).

Need a 5010. I have a 710 that needs an update.
That's the 5050, they just changed up the name. Look at their die sizes.

So this would be akin to a xx30 from previous generations? Will probably make a shit load of money either way. Who needs Rumplestiltskin anyway...
No the 5060 non-Ti is the xx30 from previous generations. This is the xx10 or xx20.

Atleast I can say I am fighting a good fight for the small guy to have better and cheaper GPUs.

Your narrow thinking leads to, you supporting corporate greed. Must be difficult being so naive.

It is effectively anti-ewaste IF it's built correctly.
A 75W unit wouldn't hint any possible issues but 130W?
It needs to be a HHHL card with rear 6-pin to be considered.

I'm sitting on a Quadro P620 that does a very specific job.
That is a 2GB GP107: 512core 32tmu 16rop 128-bit.
The highlights are a DX12_1 card with g6 NVENC g3 NVDEC.

The RTX5050 is a sharp direct upgrade to this 768p card.
8GB GB207: 2560core 80tmu 32rop (if all there), 128-bit.
DX12_2 and a solid 1080p card but we know what it's for:
Low $$$ transaction to get g9 NVENC and 4th gen RT.

In case you are genuine here, there actually is a 4010 here is the link to the TPU page. You can find them on Aliexpress https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-4010.c4247

Why would anyone fake a professional GPU, even a lowly A400, into an SKU that doesn't even exist?

Will is even have the Frame Generation hardware? Or bother with RTX cores?

:eek:Will it be even smaller then the one fan 5060s?

Guess it will be that $200-250 card that everyone keeps bringing up that older generations had.

Laptop RTX 4050 has both of them. DLSS and frame gen can be used. So it stands to reason this will too.

Agree that every card has a use even 4GB VRAM cards. But it need to be priced properly for its specs. We have Nvidia and AMD with selling cards like the 5060 essentially Ment to be a 5050 at inflated price. Nothing wrong with releasing a 5050 but then price it accordingly.

How prices of GPUs have gone since the days crypto mining and now AI. The more people can afford better cards, then it's better for everyone.

What would you say is a fair price for a 5060 & 5060?

GDDR6...ew
And exactly what has happened to the speed of GDDR7 with nGreedia? It shows no performance improvement what so ever, especially on the mid to lower end. The 9060XT is mostly faster than the 5060, despite the 5060 using GDDR6. tldr - It does not show in the real world.
