The TPU UK Clubhouse

Since the FK2 release they went from £30k-35k to like £35-40k I think for the FK8? And then FL5 is £45k+?

Well we all know the Type-R got bumped into the "hyper" hatch category...although I think since the release of FK8 and FL5 they are more a saloon than hatchback. Similar to the Skoda Octavia.
The last true hatchback would be the FK2 but that obviously got price bump because of the new engine setup with a turbo.

There really isn't any "new" hot hatch that fits the category of around £20k new anymore, does the fiat 500 abarth still exist?
The i20n would have been great if people actually gave Hyundai a chance but they dropped i20n not long after release.
The warm hatch like Swift sport 1.4 turbo still exist I believe.
Peugeot have given up with hot hatches and so have Vauxhall since being bought by PSA(Peugeot).

The Mini Cooper got priced out instantly as BMW got greedier.
BMW is used to selling cars on name alone, and they're no different with Mini, either.

I believe the Abarth 500 still exists, but I'm not sure if I could trust an Italian (or French) car, especially one with a turbo.

I thought the i20 N still existed too. I know the i30 N is around since Hyundai decided to withdraw the Veloster from the UK market.

The i20n and i30n all got dropped too because of sales not being as high as they hoped. Which sucks because they actually handle great from reviews.
A nice alternative to Fiesta ST/Polo GTI with i20n and then direct competitor with Focus ST/Golf GTI with i30n.

The Abarth 500 looks like a fun car to chuck around corners but I wouldn't buy one.
The weak clutch master slave cylinder on my 208 GTI was a nail in the coffin for me to change car, I was in the process in getting it ready for more power (230-250hp), which i've upgraded the clutch but the OEM slave cylinder failed on me twice so I called it a day with it.
Also the weak high pressure fuel pump as well was a fairly common fault, otherwise it was a good car for the money.

Again before I bought my Fk2 the i30n was a contender but my GF didn't really like it from pictures...until she saw one in person in their famous ice blue colour at Caffeine and Machine and said oh I quite like that.

So all quirky and/or sporty Hyundais have been dropped due to poor sales. What's wrong with people? Why does everybody want a basic beigemobile these days? :(

No wonder the modern car market is so boring. You need to make boring cars to satisfy the needs of boring people.

Not that its hot hatch but I think Kia has also dropped their pro'ceed/ceed GT and even the Stinger as well.

I understand the Stinger - it tried to cater to a market that doesn't care about Kias. But the Pro'Ceed as well? Oh man, we live in sad times. :(

No more Abarth 500, electric model now, and no more Swift Sports, new model but a Sports version is coming.

I think the M3 and Stinger GT v6 are the only 2 options I would consider if I was to pick a Saloon for myself, although the Stinger is a LENGTHY car it looks daunting to park lol.

Well I guess hot hatches is dead then, all that is left is golf GTI and hyper hatches now.

As long as you don't mind the indicator and wiper stalks being on the opposite sides of the steering wheel (the UK has the indicator on the left, Japan has it on the right).
No they don't, they have them on the same side, only certain Eu cars have them swapped over.

Aren't EU cars are also LHD( the wrong side) like America as well?
Anyway...this is old but funny still, picture all the people that deserved to be slapped in the face.

One shoutout and thumbups for you Britons, EVERY time I buy a game from ebay from UK, you gyus sent a mint disc. Aussies do the same too. :)

Depends on the seller, some just leave the disc to be scratched on the floor or rub our dirty finger lifting the disc up.

100% of the time when I've bought a game or a bluray from an UK seller, the disc has been in mint condition. Maybe a minor scratch, but that doesn't matter, works like new anyway.

My last purchase which arrived was M3GAN bluray, disc in mint condition, the case had a broken clip but I'm 100% sure that it broke during shipping. Swapped it to a mint cover and now it's perfect. :) Brexit just sucks that mostly I have to pay import taxes, but as long as I can have perfect condition media, that 5-10EUR extra of taxes doesn't matter. If I'd buy from a Finnish random seller, they just say "oh it's fine" and then the disc is like it was given for a cat to scratch its claws. :D

In my experience. Its sort of 50/50. Sometimes its the discs that are scratched up and sometimes its the casing/packaging that holds on the discs that are in certain states of self destruction.

There are sellers on ebay and amazon that will pick up partially destroyed boxed sets from car boot sales or charity shops for literal pennies on the dollar then sell them on for 300-1000x as much as they paid and people will still buy it because (A) its a hard copy (B) Maybe they just want the discs because their own are destroyed (C) Maybe they are missing a particular boxed set (D) just wanting to catch up with certain chapters and not really caring about the condition so long as the disc plays. (E) Its still very cheap compared to buying a new boxed set or something In B or C grade condition.

I picked up a few boxed sets in the past this way. watched it then traded it in at CEX for something else
