I just got a 6700K today for my pc to replace my old 6700. It won’t go in turbo mode. I’ve tried everything and it’s stuck at its base speed of 4ghz.

Have to have EIST enabled in bios, and probably another turbo setting.

Thank you for your help. I will verify that it is on

EIST is on. Still won’t work.

Double checked - Im not getting anything. it is on, I disabled EIST and attempted to turn it on through a different app but no luck here.

What board are you running? Temps are in check? Windows power settings checked?

I this problem with Z77 once on a mid range Asus board. Flashing fixed it till it happened again. Then the SATA ports disappeared forever lol..

Not saying this will happen to you.. but that is a day in the life of me.

I believe 4.2ghz is for a single thread and all core is 4ghz. Please somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

If you have a Z170 board, you can probably overclock it to 4.3/4.4ghz piece of cake and 4.5-4.6 pending silicon/voltage and cooling.

I’ll try reflashing bios

Have you ensured via bios or software that you in fact have a 6700k and not another 6700?
