Modified drivers for X-Fi sound cards.

I am testing the eCLRO, it seems it has like sagging because it is sitting over nvme to PCIEx4 adapter if the computer is straight on the floor I lose sound like randomly lol, if the computer is on the side it works well no random sound cuts. for the XFI titanium it didn't help, I tried to put it even on the other PCIE slot the last one on the MSI x670E TOMHAWK instead the network card and it lost audio immediately.
EDIT : so putting the SPDIF Cable above the PCIE slots where you connect the screw makes it more stable, and tight upward, so it can't really go down or sag
I hope the the Titanium HD will work PROPERLY at least, without FREEZING or LOSING SOUND, then I'll be able to test it.

Another cool thing I've found! when using these settings, it sounds EXACTLY like CMSS3D and without the DH
So I'll be able to use the eCLARO at least now

He also said he enhanced the Shifter 7.1
7.1 virtual speaker shifter enhanced profile v1.0 - Profile created by Cu. This profile should enhance the effect of positioning in games when using Dolby Headphones and 7.1 virtual speaker shifter. Please provide feedback about this profile

i have this soundcard https://www.ebay.com/itm/174386986943 and it's working fine using analog 5.1 speakers https://www.geniusnet.com/en/products/view/sw_hf5_1_4500_ii i bought many years ago second hand in very simbolic around 50-60$ prize range, i paid very little i think, user bought expensive https://www.amazon.com/Creative-Blaster-Audiophile-Performance-Headphone/dp/B00AQ5PK6I so gave me his old titanium card for very simbolic prize, since he also bought second hand, usually those cards last quite long, even changing few users still might work quite good, mine don't have any overheating issues even i have placed my card near GPU slot, but it is working fine in old antec 900 case, but i don't use expensive headphones, SPDIF, or some other extra connectors, just plain PCI-E 1X mode in old motherboard, so my works quite well without bugs and sound crackling

yes first one is my card, i don't have second extra enclosure, but even after so many years it is still working fine, sometimes just removing from case and cleaning dust

All the cards look like this and the say it's SB0880 with the sticker SB0880 on it! :D
I don't know already. I guess I'll stick with the Titanium HD and eCLARO for now. they both will sound good, eCLARO sure is and it's stable

pff it seems the spdif is causing issue with the eclaro. on analog it works perfect. with spdif I have drops every time

I even checked other pcie slot where the network card,
I checked another eCLARO card.
I tried to change DPLL settings on the DAC/AMP Low/Mid/Hi , nothing fix the issue when I fast foward or something, or in game it would crackling none stop and disappear
I tried to replace another SPDIF cable

Anyone have idea? could it be drivers? I tried official , 1.81 and 1.80, maybe lower?

If a movie is playing and I even open EDGE it would stop the sound for 1 sec..... What is that
What is wrong with this SPDIF

If I open Nvidia App for example it would stop the sound. if I write here on Edge it would stop the sound...... I can't understand this weird ass issue really...... anything that happen with gpu, is that EMI??

Can I somehow not use SPDIF and still get the VSS/Xear3D and use my external DAC/AMP?

It also happens on the fresh windows 11 ................... SPDIF is fucked can't believe this

maybe the DAC itself is faulty? Are there other devices that can be connected via SPDIF?

I don't have but it can't be the DAC/AMP if it happens DIFFERENTLY with 2 soundcards. something that happens with SPDIF that related to some DEFAULT setting in windows or motherboard. it's too much testing. I just want to watch movie and play damnit

For now I changed 3 things
from 5% to 99%
Processor Performance time check interval 1Ms from 15 or from 5000 which I had before
USB selective Suspended Enabled because I have USB hub too might cause some weird latency issues

Well, you output sound through an external DAC....maybe there is a problem with SPDIF. But if the built-in sound goes through normally, then the problem is most likely in the motherboard....or more precisely with the power supply of the ports. I heard that a riser with additional power helps.

What video card do you have? Is the built-in sound disabled in the BIOS? Try disabling the video card audio driver.

the problem is something affect my computer performance too. with the eCLARO, but it could be because the SPDIF. when I tried the XFI Titanium too I had lag and stuttering when I tried to use 96Khz lags none stop. with X4 SPDIF works fine so it can't be the DAC/AMP that's the thing.

Both eCLARO and Titanium causing weird issue because of SPDIF, the X4 SPDIF doesn't cause any stuttering or slow downs

With the eCLARO I go 60-55 in Warhammer 4000 Darktide, the thing is I still had popping and crackling even when I muted the DAC/AMP so I can't understand what is going on. it must be the soundcard, but why does it so bad, performance and audio glitches why SPDIF doing this

I am using a NMVE to PCIe x1 raiser with power supply to SATA so it's not that also. I also tested PCIe on the motherboard, and it can't be the mobo because X4 works fine through USB.

@Antes533 which most stable ASus card that is
PCIe
XEAR3D + Shifter 7.1
SPDIF OUT
CM8878 or something like that
I don't need a single thing from it's DAC/AMP I just need it to be 100% stable without crackling popping freezing or not detected

a digital curse has fallen upon you)))
I will fix it np lol

Which card should I get?

Xonar DX, Xonar D2X

it has the exact same functions

@Antes533 So I bought Titanium HD, Xonar DX. and I think the issue with the Titanium and maybe other sound cards is the SPDIF output in windows causing it to crash if it's enabled or if being used. you two are using analog so it doesn't use SPDIF at all, the second it is using the SPDIF it would start causing issues. Disabling SPDIF output seems to fix the sound issues. I will keep testing . I might buy Forte too

SPDIF disabled seems fine

Maybe you should try installing Windows 7 and check it on it? If there are problems, then there are some problems with the motherboard. Not all sound cards can glitch

it caused me issues with both inte ASRock z690e and now x670e so it can't be mobo

someone said on Amazon that he had eCLARO sound card and none stop crackling popping

the xfi people said they had the same issue.
I will see if the titanium HD cause issue and the xonar DX. hopefully I might get forte 7.1

Suppose it's time to talk here vs the other thread: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/...r-x-fi-titanium-driver-2-40-0016-whql.253440/

Is "What U Hear" working in these drivers for all the X-Fi cards?

If not: What specific models are affected?

Starting to think the standard Titanium is broken but the HD version is not...

Just for clarity: Everything else works fine and has worked fine for years; it's only the "What U hear" recorder that broke after Win10 v2004.

@Antes533 I think DanielK's package 4.0 messed my surround in windows like you said, is there any fix for that? uninstalling using revo will fix that?

just for the test I installed 2.17.008 official,

I get no sound
Control panel not installed
Control console launcher not installed and when I try to install the 2.61.45 from the website it says there is newer version

When I try to open the windows sound settings it would take a long time between menus and to show the menu
When I try to launch a movie it would stutter/slowmotion every time I change time and the image would totally freeze after couple of seconds or minutes but change the time again would bring it back, computer does not freeze

It seems the best driver is 2.17.008 but there are weird bugs with the official and somehow the other modded driver that works is crashing, something with the new APO maybe? it doesn't work properly

I have Frejya haptic chair so it audio to haptic, when the sound goes silent I can feel the sound distorted from the chair, the ding when you volume up or down feels like it's high or low note very long instead like ding, it feels like diiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeee nnnnggggg

EDIT : k I did all the test possibly can, something with the stupid card, it's impossible, no matter what driver it just fucked up eventually and then only reinstall of driver MAYBE fix this until it happens again, every restart it would happen in 20 sec to 1min, it can't be or the card somehow cool down and then it works again after. I have a fan on it.

I hope the Titanium HD will have better drivers and the Asus Xonar DX to work, I can't take it anymore, even the X4 is piece of shit that crackle too NOT OPTICAL, DIRECTLY TO THE CARD!

I though about something with the titanium HD I can use virtual cable and add the extra 2 channels for 7.1 if needed . latency won't matter much I guess

This is a discussion thread for the entire X-fi card line. By the way, no one there complains about the non-working SPDIF. I hear about this problem for the first time only from you. Today I will connect the receiver and see if I have any problems.

I saw some people having the same issues: no sound/freeze/loss of sound/restarts
I saw also one who also had PCIe adapter.
So I will have Titanium and Xonar DX, and a new Nvme PCIe Gen 3 x16 with EMI protection. the sound card was right in the middle of GPU and Network card and I saw some guide saying they are the most EMI devices there are.

Okay, I checked my card by connecting it to the receiver via optics. No dropouts at all in any mode....I even checked via DDL\DTS.

Try Asus, maybe it will suit your PC.

Let's go through the differences

@Antes533 , tell me which options are enabled on the platform you use, this will help me diagnose the issue

Which OS? W11 24H2 22631.5472
Intel or AMD?
Windows 11 Game Mode On/Off?
How much PCIe lanes did you set in Bios?
Where did you plug it? what other PCIe devices do you have? I'm using Nvme PCIe x1 adapter
I have Titanium ( soon Titanium HD ) , I tried all drivers - you have Titanium Fataility 08806
How long did you test and what did you test? it can sometimes work 2 hours and then lose sound; after a restart, it would lose sound instantly as soon I run a mkv movie or a game, music would work fine! . again it could be the Nvme PCIe x1 that causing that because I kept it connected all the times with it's sata power and without

they said they fixed it like this, I have AMD though I wonder what it could be
We need the whole list of what can cause that, and test one by one what's obvious

Some people even have issue with AE-

1750196987946.png

1750196602994.png

So I'll start with the list

AMD

CCPC - Driver - fixes performance issues
Windows 11 - disable Game Mode - fixes dxgkrnl.sys dpc issue ( could affect the performance of X3D cache need to check )
PCIe Lanes x8 - ( it would reduce GPU performance )
PCIe Raiser - need to make sure it's well made with EMI protection
Core Parking - Disable with UnparkCPU
Power Managment - minimum CPU 5% maximum 100%
fTPM - Enable or Disable or dTPM
GCSTATE - Off
BCDEDIT /SET DISABLEDYNAMICTICK YES

INTEL
Disable/remove the IMEI services
