When storage speed and flexibility matter most, why compromise? Whether you're a creative pro managing massive media libraries, a gamer juggling terabytes of AAA titles, or a developer running virtual environments, your workflow deserves storage that's as fast, flexible, and beautiful as your Mac Mini M4 setup.

Introducing the Satechi USB4 Slim NVMe SSD Enclosure—a high-performance, travel-friendly storage solution designed to unlock the full potential of your device. Inspired by the sleek simplicity of Apple's USB SuperDrive and built for modern pros, this enclosure combines USB4 technology, expandable capacity, and a premium, minimalist design.

Supercharged Performance with USB4 Technology
Speed isn't just a luxury—it's a necessity. With ultra-fast 40 Gbps transfer speeds (up to 3840 MB/s read, 3200 MB/s write), this enclosure is up to 83x faster than USB 2.0 and dramatically outpaces even USB 3.0 and 3.2 Gen 2.

Real-world results?
  • Transfer 10 full-length 4K movies (63.21 GB) in under 40 seconds.
  • Move 20 GB of photos (~4,255 images) in under 30 seconds.
  • Copy a full 71 GB AAA game in just 73 seconds.
No more waiting. No more bottlenecks. Just seamless productivity, powered by USB4.

Storage, Your Way: Up to 8 TB Capacity
Say goodbye to expensive built-in storage upgrades. With support for SSD sizes 2230, 2242, 2260, and 2280, and expandable capacity up to 8 TB, this enclosure is your customizable command center for:
  • Photographers & videographers: Store RAW image sets and 4K+ video projects without worrying about drive limits.
  • Gamers: Load, play, and back up titles directly from the drive—no need to clog your internal storage.
  • Developers: Run virtual machines, store container environments, or archive builds for rapid testing.
And when space fills up? Just swap out the SSD—no complicated setup, no cloud fees, no stress.

Designed for the Modern Desk Setup
Inspired by the iconic Apple USB SuperDrive, the USB4 Slim NVMe SSD Enclosure features a sleek aluminium body, soft-touch finish, and a minimalist silver + black colorway that fits perfectly into any workspace.

At just 16 mm thin, it aligns beautifully with the M4 Mac Mini, creating a clean, unified aesthetic. Plus, thoughtful details like a twist-off cover, built-in cable compartment, and included thermal pad make this enclosure as easy to use as it is elegant.

Built for Compatibility
No matter what you're working with, this enclosure plays nice. It's fully compatible with:
  • Mac Mini M4, M3, MacBook Air/Pro, iMac, iPad Pro
  • Thunderbolt 5 / 4 / 3 and USB4 host devices
  • PCs and USB-C devices (with backward compatibility for slower protocols)
Just plug it in—no drivers, no external power needed, no guesswork.

Who It's For
Creative Professionals
  • If you're editing RAW footage or batch-processing thousands of high-res images, you need speed and room to breathe. The USB4 Slim Enclosure delivers on both, keeping up with your demands without skipping a beat.

Gamers
  • Keep your titles ready to play and your progress protected. Store, organize, and back up game files without ever touching your internal drive.

Developers & Engineers
  • Run virtual machines, spin up environments, and load container images without lag. It's ideal for fast-paced testing and secure storage.

It too big just for the sake of "aesthetics", Orico's hybrid drives are much better both in terms of capacity and capability.

Satechi is basically an Apple acessory maker. They have an habit of making really specific stuff for mac users. They designed that enclosure to be a mac stack

This uses ASMedia's ASM2464PD, just like any other USB4v1 device currently out there.

Yea, I was just thinking that OWC is probably foaming at their mouths over this, and/or embarrassed as hell that they didn't make it first, since they are also a big Mac-parts maker/seller....

And it looks nice and all, but since I don't have a mac mini/studio to set it on/under, I'll just stick with my much more compact but equally attractive (not to mention lower-priced) Sabrent m.2 enclosures :)

I know who Satechi are, couple of my friends use their docks. its just that in this case they could have made the enclosure for 2x M.2 drives unlike the current offering which is waste of materials.
