I have thought of buying this graphic card and have it along with my 2023/Dec AOC CU34G2XP (3440x1440@60Hz) in hdmi mode. Right now i have a vintage card to the screen 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Widforce (Gigabyte) with 1x HDMI 1.4a/1x DisplayPort 1.2. The AOC screen has HDMI 2.0 x 2. HDCP 2.2. DisplayPort 1.4 x 2. https://aoc.com/se/gaming/products/monitors/cu34g2xp-bk/specification Can i have any improvments in usual graphics like pictures and movies? Or does it not matter too much with pictures and videos? So long as the resolution is right? The graphic card should be in a vintage computer Dell T3500 and it has PCI Express 2.0 (PCIe-x16). I should only have the card for usual graphics like pictures and movies. I stucked on it just because it is beautiful.

That depends on how much. It's an older model already, but if you are doing just the basics, it should do that job well. PCI Express versions are both backwards and forwards compatible, you can use a 1.0 GPU on a 5.0 slot or a 5.0 GPU on a 1.0 slot, it will not be a problem.

However, since you are installing it on an OEM, make sure that its power supply can handle it (enough watts, suitable 2 8 pin connectors, etc.) - and that the graphics card physically fits inside the case before making a purchase.

You didn't mention gaming, so don't bother. A new graphics card will give you no benefits outside of gaming. On top of that it is very unlikely your computer has two 8pin pcie power connectors. On top of that, you can get a gently used and much faster and replacement for your computer for less money than that card. Any computer from the last 10 years should be the same graphics wise for your use case.

It will make no difference to the video and picture quality, stick to the GTX 660.

That T3500 is some fairly old hardware, started production around 2009.

Frankly speaking, you can get a much better system (minus the GPU) for the cost of the 6750XT you're looking at.

Here's a useful forum thread with some info about upgrade options if you insist - https://www.dell.com/community/en/c...-t3500-upgrading-faq/647f7072f4ccf8a8dedee302

Note the default PSU only comes with a 6pin connector and can supply upto ~500w. So the RX 6750XT will not work.

The original psu had been changed. I do not know when. I got the Dell workstation in 25 aug 2022. In fact i am very pleased with it. I have A Cooler Master 500w.RS-500-ACAB-M3. It seems to be from 2013 late or 2014. I have had the computer on 24h since aug 2022. No problems or restarts.

The graphic card is 32,5 in length and 13,2 wide. It can fit to the length but for the wide. It seems to be 11cm avaible to the wide in the case. There are a plate for the hard drives that makes it only 11cm. Otherwise it are a little more then 15cm.

The 6750XT needs two 8pin connectors.

What's your operating system version? And the CPU?

This power supply cannot handle the 6750 XT. You would need an upgrade, at which point the upgrade is too costly for the benefit you'd get out of it. My recommendation is 1. an RTX 3050 6 GB model, which does not need a power cable at all, or 2. wait for RX 9060 non-XT release.

No. Your GTX 660 is already overqualified.

You will only gain more performance in gaming and work tasks such as render, AI and some other stuff. RX 6750 XT is a very hungry monster and it's based on an outdated architecture so I'd really not advise going for it.

If you DON'T intend on gaming or doing heavy work tasks then don't upgrade your GPU until it dies. And when it does go for something a lot more simplistic like RTX 3050 6 GB or something like that. Will be overkill for basic stuff like movies and pictures.

And if you intend on gaming... State your preferences.

The Cooler Master has two 6+2 Pin. The graphic card should take 200w, i guess as max load, but all cards should have power saver? Without gaming it must take less watt`?

Even with usual graphics and video playing? I thought newer cards had a Power saving function? My computer with my GTX card seems to comsums around 117 up to 130w with video playing.

No. It's not going to be reliable or even safe to do what you want to do. There are not enough power connectors and this PSU would make a solid tier F, in fact, even running that GTX 660 on it isn't entirely within the realm of reason - it works, but it's pushing your luck already. This is an exceptionally low quality power supply, and it's honestly surprising it hasn't kicked it yet. Leave it be, IMO, any GPU upgrade, you better factor the cost of a new, suitable power supply alongside it. Perhaps the reason it hasn't quite malfunctioned yet is that you aren't really doing anything serious with the PC, and at that point, any reason behind the upgrade is no longer valid IMHO.

How much are you willing to throw at this upgrade?

I understand. I recently bought a Rog thor platinum ii 850W for 200$ with free shipping but that one should be placed in a Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL ROG huge chassi. I saw another Rog thor platinum ii 850W for 180$. Maybe i should buy another. It was on 300-400 the other year. But Rog has released a new model in may. It is possible they sell the ii out.

But again that psu is pretty wide for a Dell T3500 chassi. I would be lucky to suit it in. I must measure.

That power supply is an amazing, amazing choice, and for 180 it's one hell of a deal. It's going to handle any GPU, except the RTX 5090. If using a lower wattage CPU the RTX 4090 should run on that, too.

Honestly for what it's worth, focus on your long term upgrade, give the T3500 a simple GPU like the 3050-6 GB that requires no external power but has full capabilities for a modern card and call it a day IMHO
