Frametime spikes and stuttering after switching to AMD CPU?

Fortnite compiles shaders while you play so after every driver change you'll get micro stutter till the game fully compiles shaders.

Afaik it still works this way but haven't played the game in a long time. The DX11 version use to run substantially smoother as well.

Elden Ring also can have traversal and shader compilation stutter so I wouldn’t test with it either.
yea its not just microstutters in fortnite its straight up lagging really hard for me

i ran Latencymon again now i got this after 30 mins

when you can hitching on a 60fps youtube transcode that cant feel great at 200+ fps.

Yeah, there is definitely somthing wrong with your system. I remember having a similar problem and it being a logitech driver conflicting with ICUE

It's not a ryzen problem though as I've gamed extensively in competitive shooters with zero issues Zen 2/3/4 and have a decent amount of hands on with Zen5 so it's either defective hardware or driver conflicts which are a pita to troubleshoot.

I think trying raptorlake is a good idea regardless and see what happens.

Looks like the system is hanging for a second to me in my experiences that has been storage or defective ram related but it's so hard to diagnose with people swapping out every part and still having the issue.

Yea, maybe he got a defective motherboard or something. If this were normal, nobody would be buying Ryzen for gaming

well im gonna get intel soon and then i hope my problem will be solved, i need to wait for an answer from corsair since i dont have a intel backplate anymore its gone missing, i hope corsair can help me out since the AIO i have still has warranty

Definitely, most engines are steaming based that deconpress assets on the fly so any interruption between the gpu/cpu/memory/storage will result in a hard stutter and these can be caused by anything even down to the motherboard not liking the specific ram kit even if it's on the qvl.

I think it's slightly more common on AMD systems because for a long time software was tailored for intel.

dont have anything logitech related.

I can list things that i have right now.

Razer Mouse
Hyper x Mic
Wooting Keyboard
Steelseries Headset

it should not be the ram though since i tested 2 different kits from different brands

It was more of an example and can happen when you mix components from different hardware makers that require similar software. I don't think that's your issue but I would remove any and all peripheral software if you have any installed.

after reinstalling windows i didnt install any program except steelseries

No Hyper X program, no razer, no wooting, since i also thought that could be maybe the problem

I was more pointing out how hard these things can be to diagnose due to them possibly being caused by every component and combination of components

I think if it's within your means testing a raptorlake system is your best course of action that will at least give you piece of mind.

In latency mon go to processes and list out:

but also your latency mon results are totally normal for windows 10/11.

also look here to see highest execution time.

i thinks also that this is most likely a mainboard or cpu problem what is really weird since cpu rarely go bad as far as i know

If you google any software including steelseries you'll find people have major issues due to it. That's all I was pointing out.

@Montelo What is the default polling rate of that Wooting keyboard? If it is polling at 8000hz, maybe it is causing some kind of I/O bottleneck.

yea i know i know, everything can be the issue its so weird :D

I'm not contradicting your issues only that your specific issues is insanely hard to diagnose unless you have multiple systems to test every piece of hardware all running base windows.

thats also why im always thinking about getting a second setup just for testing purposes

uhhhh i think its 8000hz yes

Some keyboards default to a lower polling rate and need the higher polling rate enabled. IDK how it is with Wooting boards. You probably have ways of changing the polling rate in software, there might be an option built in on the board too

need to run it during a game with some stutters... and then post back - if it's a driver you will see highest execution time spike up.

Have you tried disabling windows defender?

msmpeng.exe has something to do with it not sure if 250 hard faults is normal.
should i just disable the real time protection or something else

okay give me a second

its at 861 now idk if thats normal

I would probably test offline with an offline game with it disabled out of curiosity but most likely not your issue it just stood out to me.

Me either I haven't needed to use latencymon in a long time.
