What's your latest tech purchase?

Antec CX800, wanted something small that will take ATX. supports backside connections too. Will not be having RGB fans in it, just my normal Noctuas i saved from the 7000D.

how wide is that? ANtec cases are nice in terms of small cabinets that fit ATX, my last one was an ANTEC smaller than mid tower but fit my ATX nicely. Kinda was cramped though, thats why i went for chinese ANT Esports one.

No because everyone knows they're an Irish brand

let me ask you this.

Does ANT esport hold the IP for these cases? and does Apple or Samsung hold the IP for their products?

took me 2 mins

Apple and Samsung actually spend money on R&D for the design of their products.
i am not sure about most but i know Lava has a R&D center in India, there might be many other companies doing so but i don't have solid proof.

atleast they provide affordable products for people who are on tight budget, most premium brands like corsair, nzxt, noctua etc. charge a premium for slightly better or similar quality.

  • 1m LED COB strip for a project
  • Pixel watch 3 case
  • Couple of M.2 USB housings - New ssd "liberates" older drives
  • Soundcore Liberty 5 earbuds

look at the posts again. and see the prices.

Corsair, NZXT and noctua and even antec are completely in a different ball park compared to quality. my NZXT mid tower case itself weighs >5kg.

Ant esports is really cheap metal but good enough. They are still selling them at a huge margin though. I can literally bend the panels in the ant esports with my thumb, dont even need my full hand.

i don't see them making huge profit considering their less than 4k cases sometimes have 5-6 rgb fans.

do you see the price difference here? do you know how to convert USD to INR? also their fans are shit. they barely move the blades, let alone move any useful amount of air...

Voron 0.2 r1 kit from formbot, They've shipped the parts from Czech, and arrived today, but the 3d printed parts are going From china, and did not even get out from China.

Since my 1080Ti died during the covid, I had to wait in line on the AMD website to get a 6700XT (I wanted a 6800XT but there was no more when it was my turn...).
Then I waited for a 800€ 3080 (Ahah) then I saw the price of the 4080...then of the 5080. nVidia saw the opportunity to put stupid prices and people keep buying even if there is no more "shortage due to covid".

I did offer myself a 9070XT paid 750€ (125€ VAT). I found the price correct. :D

Edit : Everything seems fine, bought 2 days ago on rueducommerce.fr, received today :

Is the Samsung memory less hot?

Nice but kinda expensive for a Hellhound.

Is the Samsung memory less hot?
From what I've read, the Samsung memory got the timings less tight than the Hynix so it's supposed to be less hot.

At least after hours playing Kingdom Come Deliverance II with very high graphics (didn't try experimental settings), without FSR so, native 1440p, no coil whine, no weird glitch, the GPU didn't even make any noise.

It's 625€ without taxes (of course there is 20% VAT here so it's 750€), I think it's not bad. It's pretty hard to get a GPU at decent price in France. (https://www.idealo.fr/cat/16073/cartes-graphiques.html?q=9070 xt&qd=9070 xt)

And I prefer buy from a renown website (this one is part of the LDLC group now but always had a very good support since it exists) than try my luck elsewhere when I spend more than 500€ :D Maybe I could have saved like 40€ ?

Yeah you could save around €40-50 with a good deal.

My latest purchase was MSI 401QR 40" UWQHD 3440 X 1440 144Hz

I bought white 2400 RPM Wondersnails for my AIO. Very good and very quiet fans, even at high speeds. They were only 15 usd for 3 fans.

I also bought these Jungle Leopard starlink fans. They push a lot of air, has a fan direction switch, and is daisy chainable. And the rgb implementation is nice, I think. They max out at 2050-2100 RPM. It also has an integrated rpm display but I think I need to switch headers in which the fans are plugged for it to work properly.

An used Steam Deck (LCD, 64GB + 512GB µSD card), paid 200EUR from it now and the remaining 50EUR next month as I had to pay some bills as well. :D

Score! Nice find!
I'l get a 1TB 2242 NVMe SSD next month when I can afford one, but the interwebz buddy I bought it from, said that the 512GB µSD card is fine as a cheaper solution. I guess that in overall, 1.5TB storage in a handheld device is more than enough, I'm not going to put those 100GB+ hogs on it. :D

edit: Ah, so it uses 2230 sized drives. Still shouldn't be a problem when I'll get more storage for it.

After waiting a little over a year, I finally got my "Your invitation to purchase" email from The Wand Company! :D
It arrives by Amazon truck in about an hour from time of posting this.

Yes, it's the same one Adam Savage geeked out over on his Youtube channel.

I've bought a little overpriced nvme heatsink, strangely it comes with motherboard strapped to it :), and name is really strange "MSI B550-A PRO".
