Thought it was caused by drive being disconnected (ext backup), but even if i connect, unlock the drive, its locked again after reboot.
win/bitlocker setting all show auto-unlock enabled, confirmed with cmd, not using mb tpm module, thanks to the MS win 11 crap.

just did the also recommended de- and re-encryption of the drive, no change, drive is always locked when im back in win.

not using mb tpm module

This is the problem.

If you are not using the Key on the built in TPM or using a thumb drive with the key on it, it is not going to unlock automatically. There may be a sub GPO that can help with this but I havent looked at it in a long time.

i do have a usb stick (constantly connected) with the keys, and it does unlock all other drives on boot, just not the one connected of usb-c.

I had the same problem with some PC here.

I think Auto-Unlock is not supported on removable media encrypted with BitLocker To Go. Because the drive is flagged as “removable,” Windows forces a manual unlock each time you plug it in, even if you’ve saved the recovery key on a USB stick.

I could fix it by marking it as fixed, my usb adapter allowed this and i could turn on auto unlock in Bitlocker.

I know you also could use some script to auto unlock a drive like this without TPM, i have to look up that.
