What's your latest tech purchase?

Finally got one of these things. I did have a Zalman fan controller that did the same thing, but broke it. This one was only like 20 beaver bucks, and shows the same numbers the zalman did for these programs.

This portable monitor is working pretty well for me. I didn't realize during purchase but it comes with a magnetic attached cover which is nice to keep it from getting scratched during transport or keeping dust off when not being used.

With the VESA mounting option I can probably find a way to mount it to my ML-09B. Didn't get a chance to try Freesync mode, HDR, or the built-in speakers yet. Did get a chance to play a game or two and it seemed to work fine with HDMI and my 4060LP.

It's very thin too and theoretically with double sided sticky tape one could mount it to the interior of a large PC case glass panel.

Now pretend I am 5 :)

Inter-border humor about power and $ to $. 1.368 or .6967, worse than I remembered.

I see account points in my future.

Its ok, I just hate math :)

Edit:

Last I saw we were at like 73c.. but I remember like 64c about 20 years ago.. when I was buying high end 939 chips. Man those prices sucked.

Built my friend's first high end gaming rig, have to love the new Zotac card's look. CPU is a 9800X3D with 64GB CL30 6000Mhz.

.....Facebook Marketplace strikes again. Extremely disappointed in the keyboard though. It was practically brand new . It's normally about $250 at best buy...got it for $40....still paid too much. Feels hollow and all cheap plastic. GPU rocks tho

Idle is a higher than my Kioxia Excelera Plus G3 but its 31'c ambient currently so I guess its to be expected. Probably drop closer to 35'c when my room cools down. Will do more tests later

::EDIT::

I did use thermal pads. Running a quick crystaldiskmark.

::EDIT III::

Thermals are going to be perfectly fine

I hope you have cheap power.
Mine shows just over 100W and the Power Company is milking us.

We generate our own hydro electricity here. We supply parts of the U.S as well..

That's @freeagent job you didn't know? Bro has a huge hamster wheel.

Fixed....

   :toast:
Why do you think I have kids? Give each of them a wheel.. my 10 year old is already shaving thanks to all the exercise he gets.

I meant is it madeby Acer or made by say samsung/WD etc and stickered as Acer. Sorry i should have been more clear

Finally got one of these things.

You may check teh accuracy of that.

Some of those cheap stuff measure nonsense. When the measurement value is really of concern I would cross test with a current clamp meter and multimeter where the accuracy is given my the manufacturer.

My smart wifi plug is over 20% wrong for the power consumption. I measured the voltage with several expensive multimeters and compared it with the shown voltage. I did not even bother measuring the current with my true rms - multimeter - clampmeter. Not worth bothering much furter.

As explained above. The OEM is BiWin.

It should be close, it literally reads the same as what I had before.. the big number from my picture was when I ran OCCT power test.

I'm very certain that's not how it works..
Legs help with the production of testosterone, I only know from years of riding my bike. Now I have messed up knees, and am aging.. I feel it.

I was just kidding about my 10 year old, he doesn't shave. My 13 year old is dam close though. I didn't have to till I was in my 20s ffs.

doing a little experiment because i am so incredibly sick of PCs at the moment... using the absolute latest hardware directly on launchday for the last 10 years breaks you mentally. literally everything is broken, no matter if it was corrupting windows and files with early ryzens massive memory instability, Zen 3 idle crashes for almost a year, the awful RDNA1 and 2 launches, replacing your exploded 7800X3D with a 14900k that degrades to a crisp while reading your emails about the RMA of your 4090 that catched on fire while playing "overwhelmingly negative" rated game ports like Monster Hunter Wilds.
And Windows 11 being the most disgusting ad infest dumpster fire of all time.

never thought that i, the guy with enough Hardware to build 50 PCs, having a selection of different 4090s, multiple X3Ds all the way up to the 9950X3D, every single GPU and CPU Architecture from the last two decades genuinely hates PCs now.
i have not used my 9950X3D/9070XT PC for 56 days now and i am surprised how calm everything has become. everything "just works" and nothing stands in my way.

got myself a 42" LG C4, the PS5 Pro (threw one of my 4TB 990 Pros in it) and the new M4 Mac Mini and i already played more video games in 4 weeks than i did on PC in the entire year.

I am both happy and sad for you. My PS5 is collecting dust on my desk, haven't touched it in months.

After 17 years of being a VA peasant I've finally switched to OLED.
I wanted LG 45GX950A-B but it's not available in my region, store says maybe in September so I've settled for this Odyssey OLED G9 G93SD in the meantime.
Looking great so far. I will see how it goes with the burn in :D

Stop doing that. I did. I always wait for a few months or a year, unless there's a need for testing, which is rare these days.

What I find ironically odd about this photo is the ultrawide display and the dinky 60% keyboard. I know everyone has their preferences, but come on..
