My 9800x3 stay at 43C in idle, with 30C of room, I have noctua nh-d15 g2 lbc, and case corsair 5000D(6 fans), when I got the cpu 2 months ago, was 26C in room, and the cpu had 37C in idle, did some tests then, (cinebench, 3dmark, so on), the biggest number I got was 84C, so yes it is a hot cpu, and he will want to boost most of the time, if the temps allow it...this will be very good in winter, no need to heat the house, just play games...even the chipset of motherboard it is high(57C)...summer time.
