TPU's Rosetta Milestones and Daily Pie Thread

I knew that you did add the host to the Windows hosts file since you got, completed and uploaded jobs. The past 8 days (since 28/6) I got jobs that didn't download but after the addition I got 31 jobs on Win10 that all downloaded, the first six completed and uploaded so I'm good. @SmookinJoe and @xrobwx71 with Win10 that stopped returning jobs....the solution is there

Ok...where can I find all the detailed instructions?
I know nothing! but I can follow instructions...lol

PS..If I updated to the latest Boinc would that take care of it?

Take a look at my first post from yesterday with instruction to locate the file you need to add a Rosetta host in and the host file is in the same post. The latest Boinc will not do it, you have to add a line in the Windows host file.

Yes, run as administrator. If it's your i7-7800X and the E-2288G I can see that they picked up some work, yesterday. @SmookinJoe fixed some of his as well.

And here we are again for another lovely Rosetta Pie Stats update for the 5th July 2025!!

And here we are with the Rosetta Pie and a nice kick in! Surprised that I've managed so much back but welcome change and happy with the level of support!! I hope everyone is doing well and is OK?? Time to get a look in and see what the rest of the stats are doing today.... Server stats please sir!!

Well there we are, not too bad a day I'm thinking, 67,000 or so queued jobs been done for the day, not bad at all I'm sure everyone is happy with that and across the teams, it seems to be getting a little better... Here's hoping it stays and carries on!!

And there we are everyone, another great day for Rosetta, even with just 3 of us being able to return some work... Nicely done everyone!! I hope you are all having a great day?? I hope to see you all again soon but I think we'd best get and see what the server stats have to offer us so far I think.... So here we are !!

And there we are, over 74,000 queued jobs done and dusted for today, nicely done everyone (other teams included!!) I hope you are all happy with the results I hope that we'll be back again tomorrow with a few more members and hopefully a little larger number for our daily contribution but we are definitely not doing badly at all I hope everyone is having a great day, take care and see you soon I hope!!

Are you sure that you follow the instructions to the letter? Open notepad and run it as administrator (to be able to edit and save the file) locate c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts
So add/replace hosts path c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts (running as administor (How-to <-Link) and add 128.95.160.156 boinc-files.bakerlab.org, save, close browser and try again.

I have only one file placed there and its a text file and its only comments. You add 128.95.160.156 boinc-files.bakerlab.org at the end.

Is this how you want me to save the file?
I have not put a # sign on it's line
The actual host file has more space between the entries...TPU forum is altering it after I post.

The # is a comment indicator and tells the system to ignore any text following it. In other words, you did it correctly.

To be honest I first started to add #, but after rereading the Host file I started to question it.

And there we are for another days contribution and another great one at that!! 6 members for today, so great work to everyone taking part, I'm hoping there's no drama for anyone getting any work as always, but we know Rosetta although it seems a little more stable than WCG at the moment, but I won't say too much too loud, so shhhhhhhhh lol Here we are everyone with the server stats too....

So there we go, not a bad day I don't think Around 66,000 queued jobs been taken on and completed today so that's pretty impressive! I'm very happy with that, as of late, we've not been getting more than that but its OK, I don't think something is quite 100% but we are pushing and earning points and gaining grown, that, is all we need So lets hope to see you all again soon!! Well well, here we are again with another hot day and its just about 10am... Time to get the AC running I think!! phew!! Here we are everyone for the Rosetta Pie Stats for the 11th July 2025!!

And there we are everyone, another great day!! Well, its a shame the points have taken a drop but I know everyone here will be running this 24/7, so I'm not sure what is going on with those damn servers, but maybe they need a reboot??.... I dunno... Still, not a bad day from a Rosetta point of view, generally before it was like a tenth of these points, so we are still pushing along nicely and doing well Oh, speaking of doing well, here we are with a little push in the right direction I think.....

I hope that everyone isn't melting in the heat, I'm very grateful the AC is working nicely in the house right now, so I'm so glad I had that portable unit

Well here we are, a few days ago I was up to date and now, well... Time to get this right, here we are everyone for the Rosetta Pie Stats for the 13th July 2025!!

And there we are for another great day for Rosetta, bit of an up and down score for the last few days but I hope everyone is doing well and is OK?? As always here we are with the server stats for you to have a look over....

A bit of a drop with the queued work units today everyone, a little under 50,000 which is a bit of a drop from yesterday, wonder if we had some bigger units or something... well, there we go, I hope everyone will be sticking about for a few, got a couple more updates for you all I hope everyone is doing well and is OK!! Here we are everyone for the Rosetta Pie Stats for the 14th July 2025!!

Well there we are, bit of a drop right there isn't it... Under 20,000 for the first time in a long time if I recall?? Wonder what is going on here then....... Missed doing the police accent of "Hello hello.... What's going on here then.... " Well, instead, we'll just turn to the server stats and see what's going on......

Well, today was a little different, about 64,000 queued jobs been taken today, so I'm curious if they got some more jobs done but lower scored.... Umm....... Still, one more update to go, so, lets get that done and see what happens, don't you think?? Thought so too Take care all!! Time for one last update!!

And here we are with a quick Rosetta Pie Stats update for the 16th July 2025!!

And there we are, a nice increase of the points today over yesterday, so that's great to see!! Great work everyone!! I think the work isn't coming out much or something is going on with the results as we can normally smash through 200,000 points a day and a little bit under 30,000 seems a little low for us.. Still, it is what it is and with that, here we are with the server stats for the day too....

And with that, I don't think we've done too badly and everyone contributing to Rosetta have managed a nice 64,000 queued jobs to go from the queued jobs Nicely done everyone Time to go have a beer or something I think and have a relax!! Take care everyone, hope you are all having a great day!

It's the changes made to the PC coincidence phenomenon. I even went back and commented out the entry for a few days and it's not the entry.
