GTX 1050 GPU Owners Club

Hello everyone,
As you can see in my system specs I became proud owner of GTX 1050 on laptop, bought it like 1 month ago, was on HP ProBook 455 G1 untill then, and the HP ProBook 455 G1 specs were: AMD A10-5750M CPU, 16GB DDR3 RAM 1600MHz, and Amd Radeon HD 8750M GPU(it was awful).
I want to ask, what do you think about the GTX 1050, do some of you still use it, is it good?
IMHO, the GTX 1050 Mobile is a pretty solid GPU, I get 70+ FPS to 136 FPS on War Thunder, 1920x1080 resolution, I think that is good enough.

I've got in home gtx 1050 as backup and when I was having lan party I was playing Path of Exile 2 and it was playable an enjoyable , but in game monitoring was screaming that 2gb of vram is to little , but it was working anyway

IMHO, the GTX 1050 Mobile is a pretty solid GPU, I get 70+ FPS to 136 FPS on War Thunder, 1920x1080 resolution, I think that is good enough.

You should be able to get a bit more performance out of it with 16GB of RAM in dual channel
Undervolting is also a possibility

A long time ago I used to have a laptop with nearly identical specs, just with a 1050 Ti instead, and it was a pretty good little GPU.

Also I was thinking to buy kit of 2x 16 GB RAM, it's DDR4 after all

Nice little GPUs, 1050Ti Mobile (not the 1050) was the first proper GPU I could afford back in the day.

I still have a Quadro P1000 in use till date, while the performance is tolerable I can't complain much given the 40W power draw.

Mine is MSI laptop edition, it has 4GB VRAM

Nice little GPUs, 1050Ti Mobile (not the 1050) was the first proper GPU I could afford back in the day.

I still have a Quadro P1000 in use till date, while the performance is tolerable I can't complain much given the 40W power draw.

The Quadro P1000 is similar to the GTX 1050, it is little slower, and it's a Graphic Card for work, not for Gaming

Does a 1050 Ti count?
I'm using it in my NAS/server because it doesn't require any external power and it's basically just a video output device so it won't be obsolete for at least another 10 years

Yes it counts , the GTX 1050 Ti is basically the same, with little better Theoretical Performance (Pixel Rate, Texture Rate, FP16, FP32,FP64)

The P1000 (gtx1050 4gb) is nice, +320MHz core, VRAM from 5gbps to 7.5gbps (80->120gb/s +50% bandwidth) with same voltage 0.95v...

I have a 1050ti In my collection that's earmarked for a build of lower power /older games/emulation, but it makes for a great little backup GPU too.

Let's be honest, the 1050 mobile is a very solid offering as long as you keep your expectations realistic. Coming from that 8750M, the 1050 is going to make your experience delightful by comparison. For some perspective;

You've more than quadrupled your GPU performance.

I have the desktop version in single slot low-profile form. Looking to upgrade to a 3050 or 5050 soon. Still, it's been a very good card. It's by no means a high end GPU and never was, but it's still a good model for 720p/1080p gaming.

i am using a 1050 ti since 3 years which was bought used and then for a really decent price of 35$ i bought another one last year after my original one started artifacting (both zotac mini)
