Despite being from the upcoming release 590 branch, this driver is from April or so, and was just released now. It's extremely unstable on my RTX 5090, for some reason. I keep getting crashes and white screens with random colored streaks. I tried it because I wanted to see if there was anything of note beyond the Smooth Motion backport to Ada, but it doesn't seem to be the case, at least not with that build.

Any of you guys had similar issues? I went back to the 576.88 driver, since I technically don't "need" it, and the Nvidia discord was not of much help here.

Yeah my buddy's getting straight up black screen driver crashes on 572.83 with event id 153. And when he was on newer driver he once ended up with the card straight up refusing to boot until he got his 4090 in and rolled back the driver.

Smooth motion might be cool but you're still barely pulling 70 fps on a 4090 with 2x framegen. It's like Nvidia and Bethesda sat down and said "Hey, remember when we had the most optimized engine that could pull insane framerates and smoothest gameplay? Let's put mandatory RT into it! What could possibly go wrong?!"

I actually haven't played Starfield since I got my 5090, but I recall that it did not run all that well with the 4080 and frame generation was a must. It was the one game where the 7900 XTX seemed to punch way above its weight, usually matching the 4090

Nvidia smooth motion is beta, only games with no issues, are Doom Dark Age. CYBERPUNK, so far , but high fps Tlou2 flickers in cut scenes, the driver its self is fine, benchmarks are the same for my sytem.

Released? Still not showing on anything but the nvidia developer pages for me.

Nvidia Smooth motion vs FG- RTX4090 -The Last of Us™ Part II Remastered

The only configuration is on or off? Anybody tried applying to VLC or other media players?

Yeah it's basically the same thing as AMD's AFMF, forced global frame generation.
