hi my system is amd 4800+ x2 2.53ghz
4gb ddr2 800
8600gt 512mb
core 600/mem 420/shader 1350

my 3dmark06 pro edition score is 4191

sm2.0 1723
hdr/sm3.0 1556
cpu 1900

this seems low or is this about right because i have seen rigs only a bit better scoring way higher

That looks normal to me

If you want higher scores, just overclock, that is about normal for that system

^ asb beat me i was just about to find that thread XD

:laugh::laugh::laugh: sorry :toast:

the 7800GT is a better card.

also what will a 4800+ overclock to its just at 200fsb default at mo , and does it make any difference what slots you put memory in cos i seen a system which scored 2700 3dmarks 06 and he had his memory in slots 1 and 3

your rig is good apart from your 8600gt not a very good card and that score is about right for it, with an 8800 gt/gts in that same rig you'd be looking at nearly double that score.

is that memory clock 11xx?

7800gt better card but why does it warrent nearly 7000 score i have more memory and better processor then this guy . or doesnt it make a difference with the memory

its not that much better, if it is at all, that result for 7000 is SLI!

heres a number to look forward to if you can clock your GT up high enough

JC316 - MSI 8600GTSOC @ 775/1145 - 6156 - A64 X2 3600+@ 2853.1Mhz - 300.3FSB

775 is that memory clock or core, 1145 shader

775 is the core, 1145 is the memory. If you check out that thread that I linked earlier, they could help you get there. It might take some pencil a DMM and some patience, but crank that fan up and you can do it!!

This thread! - its all about modding your card and getting the most out of it!

yah, it should be doubled. The main thing to work on is your core clock. That will give you the raw power in games and benches. The memory will help alot, especially if you run high rez, but the core will have a much greater impact

thanks i will oc the shizzle out of this card as i will be getting better one in few months any advice on good cards to get or coming out in few months time worth a look at? obviously i knowthey cost big money
