    i5 10210U - is there a way around the 10W power limit?

Seems like an alright lower end mobile card. It'd certainly be a huge upgrade from my laptop! https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GeForce-MX350-vs-Intel-HD-520-Mobile-Skylake/m1069350vsm36797 Too bad about the 10w throttling. My laptop does that on battery, but when plugged in it can...

    undervolting not working

Oh, okay. If safemode will work, then it's likely just a piece of software causing issues. Have to try toggling off what runs until you can boot regular windows. I would still reset to defaults in the BIOS. You may only be able to configure 2 things, but the reset wipes far more settings that...

    undervolting not working

Did you reset to defaults? You should always reset to default settings after downgrading a BIOS, or face possible issues. If safemode won't let you in, that gets really awkward. Only two possibilities here - one, something is very messed up. (Good Luck) Two, you've got a coincidental other...

ThrottleStop how to remove Throttle flag

I recommend whatever cooling pad is cheap, has large quiet fans and adequate airflow to cover a laptop's entire body. There's no reason that slapping 2-4 $3 fans (in China) onto injection moulded plastic (< $1) equals a $60 cooling pad. That's some crazy markup. BOM is $6-15 for all these...

ThrottleStop how to remove Throttle flag

For extended gaming sessions? Yes, probably worth having a cooler. (At least if you tend to set up in an area and game.) At the very least, less heat usually results in longer lifespan. They're not too expensive, and some act as usb hubs if you're low on ports...

ThrottleStop how to remove Throttle flag

Yep, I am! I am pretty happy with these settings. I don't need to roast my CPU. I want it fast but stable and not cooking itself or its voltage regulators. Edit: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/28724922 It says CPU throttled to 92%. That happens even when I unlock higher...

PC Refuses To Boot Again 1 Month After Reinstalling Windows

You seem to want a shotgun fix rather than methodical troubleshooting & diagnosis, but you haven't listed all of your specs, which is problematic. I will try to help, but with so little info I can't be very precise. I have built a lot of Ryzen systems though, so I might at least be able to point...

ThrottleStop how to remove Throttle flag

It doesn't seem to increase beyond 30w even if I set it at a much higher number. Could it be limited in the BIOS or somewhere else? I don't think I'd go higher than 35w even if I could, due to cooling limitations. Edit: Figured it out by tinkering with values. iccMax was too low in FIVR. Played...

ThrottleStop how to remove Throttle flag

@unclewebb I have a Core i7-6600U. It had 25w limits. I bumped it up and PL1/PL2 red throttling disappeared when running dual heavy benchmarks. (Ex: OCCT + a GPU bench or 4K YouTube) However, Ring EDP Other continues to blink red during benchmarks. Occasionally it will also show up for Core...

ThrottleStop how to remove Throttle flag

Have you tried dropping the Turbo Boost power limits? If it can't draw as much power, it won't turbo as high. Maybe try 35 or 45 watts or something, and see if it changes the turboing behaviour to be more acceptable? I have an older i7-6600U which can turbo two cores into the mid 3's off a 25w...

    ThrottleStop Question - HP EliteBook 840 G3 with i7-6600u

Good to hear you found the right model and are up and running! :)

    ThrottleStop Question - HP EliteBook 840 G3 with i7-6600u

What kind of error are you getting? Can you take a screenshot? I literally just downloaded it, unpacked it, then ran it from wherever it unpacked. No other steps were required for me, other than waiting 20 minutes while it finished the BIOS flash.

    ThrottleStop Question - HP EliteBook 840 G3 with i7-6600u

@borygo77 You go to HP's 840 G3 drivers here: https://support.hp.com/ca-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-elitebook-840-g3-notebook-pc/7815294 Click BIOS, then click the little blue down arrow, then click Previous Version and finally choose v142, the final version that worked before they blocked it...

Intel i5 9300H with 100° even with undervolting (throttlestop)

When I saw the 100C, I wondered... could it be a Dell? G3 3590 U20P - Yep, a Dell. Dell has produced many laptops in the past 3 years that have stock temperatures in the 60-85C range just with Chrome running. I set a few up a couple months back and told the person buying them that the model...

Sabrent M.2 4TB SSD NVMe PCIe

https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/71915/intel-ssd-dc-s3700-series-400gb-2-5in-sata-6gb-s-25nm-mlc.html For what it's worth, I swapped out 3 of these for new SSDs last year. They were in use by local restaurants in the POS systems. A local POS vendor uses a lot of them. They...
