problem resolved....had to installl drivers for the 7800 that were over a year old, and now everything is back to normal ....thx for the help people

i would go with the separate hd over a partition, but if you go with vista, you might want to go bigger as vista seems to just keep growing every day...

yes, its a bfg 7800.... i did uninstall the drivers with driver cleaner pro... that link was very helpful, i think i need to search for some older drivers...

not sure where i should post this...so mods move it if need be. did a clean install of windows, on my buddies comp....system specs as follows dfi expert mobo, FX-60, 4 gb gskill ram, bfg 7800, plextor dvd burner, 150 raptor for OS, and 2 500 wd's for storage. no matter what i do, i cant...

i have had 2 die from static, and both were in a case at the time, and both were powered off...so it does happen take my word for it...in fact the 2nd time was just last week.

funny thing i was looking at that gigabyte mobo as my next, and right now i am running the evga 680i....if you are jut looking to get the best clocking mobo for quad cpu, i would not go with gigabyte x38...better off with dq6 gigabyte p35, or 680i ...some people are swearing by the dfi p35, as...
