not sure where i should post this...so mods move it if need be.

did a clean install of windows, on my buddies comp....system specs as follows

dfi expert mobo, FX-60, 4 gb gskill ram, bfg 7800, plextor dvd burner, 150 raptor for OS, and 2 500 wd's for storage.

no matter what i do, i cant get the desktop correct, at optimal resolution, most things are off screen, after truing a few different things, i think the mobo is fubar.

i am not new at this, buit this is the first time i have ever seen something like this...

...any help?

TIA

Lovely, you forgot the most important details. What monitor and what resolution? Sounds like your select resolution exceeds the monitors max.

Well try what ktr suggested. And try this

Download Driver Cleaner Pro
http://www.drivercleaner.net

Install it and read instructions which should be some thing like this.

Uninstall video driver reboot in safe mode and run Driver Cleaner and remove all related to the display driver.
Reboot and install new drivers and reboot again.

Good Luck.

+1 on what Dan stated. Have you checked the max settings? Really sounds like a vid setting or driver issue to me.........
