    Problem with 6950 PCS++ "Flashing"

    Great service! 3 days after my old card shipped out I had a brand new 6970 :)

    Problem with 6950 PCS++ "Flashing"

    Uh this is how a REAL RMA works, it's standard procedure (not like crappy internet shops and retailers where they want you to prove something is defective). And I assume this is the case here due to "PowerColor team is going to offer you a instant card exchange service!" And they have you're...

    Problem with 6950 PCS++ "Flashing"

    I think you missunderstand. You send them your S/N and shipping address, you get a NEW card and THEN you return the defective one. What more do you want?? Also I assume the RMA package will include return shipment papers, so you needn't worry about shipping fees.

    Thanks for the response, this is great customer service, big kudos. Shit happens, but as long as people own up to it, no harm done.

    Problem with 6950 PCS++ "Flashing"

    Thanks, here's mine for comparison (the one on the left), same card, same bios, same drivers.

    Problem with 6950 PCS++ "Flashing"

    Thanks for sharing, but this is the exact same bios I had on my card. I tried flashing anyways, but no dice. Could you maybe post your GPU-Z readout? I'd like to know if there are any other differences. Thank you, the support is much appreciated. I've been a long time user of powercolor cards...

    Problem with 6950 PCS++ "Flashing"

    The asterisk is only next to the Modern Warfare game, which would imply it only applies to that(which is also what happened, MW2 is not included with the card). In these cases it really is the best to simply communicate with the company and be adamant but polite about it. That works more often...

    Problem with 6950 PCS++ "Flashing"

    As long as you have the original bios back on it, I doubt it will matter.

    Problem with 6950 PCS++ "Flashing"

    Thanks for the helpful response. Glad someone finally understands that this isn't about people being upset that their cards dont OC as high as test boards, but that an actual advertised feature was silently slashed. I did contact them and sent them GPU-Z readouts, but still waiting for any...

    Problem with 6950 PCS++ "Flashing"

    As I said, that's not how it works. There's a difference between between sending for example a cherry picked monitor with 0 pixel errors for a review, or HW that can be OCed better, vs slashing an entire feature from the real product that garnered this card so much interest and accolades in the...

    Problem with 6950 PCS++ "Flashing"

    That's the point it's NOT possible on this card, you cannot unlock the shaders at all, not via the switch, not via manually flashing the BIOS with a custom or self written one, there is NO way(the second BIOS is actually a 6970 BIOS fyi, but the shaders are not present). So actually I rectify...

    Problem with 6950 PCS++ "Flashing"

    From techpowerup review EVERY single review of the card you can find states this. This is why it's a different story than with other cards, since this is the big feature that got this card so many awards in the first place. This card has a billion Gold, recommended, performance etc awards...

    Problem with 6950 PCS++ "Flashing"

    On ALL PCS++ the 2nd BIOS is a 6970 BIOS, even the one I have and if you still had your original one I bet it would say 6970 too. But like the guys said the shader unlocking was only possible on test samples.

    Cayman 6xxx and Bulletstorm

    Like said it's a 69xx problem, the game runs perfectly fine on my 4870 too.

    Cayman 6xxx and Bulletstorm

    At the moment you can sorta fix this by disabling lightshafts. Open the stormengine.ini with the BSiniEditor and set 'lightshaft' to False Of course the visuals suffer a bit from this, but it's better than that diagonal line.
