Yesterday I did a very silly thing and stopped a process, which I cannot remember the name of, using the task manager. The process was using up 50% of the CPU output and bringing the pc to standstill. I believe the problem was connected to my use of Hide My IP (no evil intent on my behalf)...

Hmm...Ok I am new to the forum but tbh I think you could have been a little bit more helpful, as it others are unlikely to have any helpful suggestions now. Apart from the title what else should I have done? From what I can see there are very similar posts throughout the site.

As my name suggests I know next to nothing about the internal workings of a pc. Despite having a fairly good pc I've never been happy that it performs at an acceptable level, but I have no idea how to test its performance. I have used on-line tests from companies trying to sell their wares...
