Recommended utility to clone a disk?

So, the saga continues. Data saved from the RAID (great success). While I was at it with a free trial of Macrium Reflect I figured I'd replace my aging primary SSD. I cloned it to a new, larger one. Forgot to set it to auto-fill the empty space but let Windows extend the partition, no...

Used a crappy external enclosure - did I damage my new HDD?

Yeah, it was getting hot; I pointed a fan at the enclosure to keep the temp down, was able to keep it in the "green" range in HD Sentinel doing this. Do you have any recommendation for a better one that's not overly pricey?

Used a crappy external enclosure - did I damage my new HDD?

For those that are familiar with my prior post, I'm migrating my data off a dying RAID. All of that's going OK so far - everything I care about is on an external SSD and I plan to write it all to a WD Gold I bought. I bought a cheap enclosure off Amazon (this one...

Recommended utility to clone a disk?

Well, fate hit me hard. Just when I was preparing to do it, one of my RAID's drives decided to die, so now it's in degraded mode and that precludes cloning. I'm using teracopy. Doing quite a good job of things. I should be able to get most stuff off this dumpster fire. Thanks a lot everyone!

Recommended utility to clone a disk?

It's not bootable, it's just a pile of data. Ideally I'd want something with built in verification. Does Macrium Reflect do that?

Recommended utility to clone a disk?

Hi everyone, I've had a RAID for the past decade or so and I've grown to despise it. I want to toss all the data on it onto a single disk (I've bought a large WD Gold) since I've learned the hard way that RAID beats the shit out of disks, I'm sick of replacing them. There is about 6GB of data...

Flashing green grainy effect on new monitor.

A matter of days ago - this is brand new. Unfortunately she doesn't have access to another monitor that uses digital video - all of the others in her house are VGA.

Flashing green grainy effect on new monitor.

Her monitor is an MSI Optix G241. Seems to be a pretty standard budget monitor, and I'd not expect anything overly weird from MSI.

Flashing green grainy effect on new monitor.

Hi, I'm posting this on a friend's behalf, so admittedly this is second-hand, as she's feeling anxious about asking a public forum for tech support, but I ran out of thoughts on this. She recently got a new PC, but when she plugged in the monitor, there was a recurring thing where there'd be a...

Memory upgrade advice for optimal performance

Everything's running at default settings for now; I don't usually mess with them. I'll open BIOS later tonight and report back. I did it right now, since I found out that my settings got reset and I was wondering why I couldn't see my RAID volume. 2133MHz, using automatic voltage settings. I...

Memory upgrade advice for optimal performance

Just installed the memory - aside from a "I'm an idiot" moment (accidentally unplugged my cooler's power supply and only realized when I'd got to the desktop and had to power down ASAP) everything is fine. I'll run memtest when I have the free time, but for now the computer seems really stable.

Memory upgrade advice for optimal performance

I'm a computational biologist - I was using a brain cell simulator, and while my 16GB was fine for very short simulation runs, it would max out on very long simulation runs, and some of what I need to do now runs for longer than 12 hours. It was very annoying to find that the program gave up on...

I bought the memory so I'll keep you all posted.

Would the F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC kit be appropriate for my needs?

Memory upgrade advice for optimal performance

They're the F4-3600C16D-16GTZNC, yes. Sorry, I wasn't aware that the part number was important.
