In the wake of the new year, NVIDIA's GeForce Forceware drivers have surfaced. While being in a beta stage the 185.20 Forceware provide support for NVIDIA's upcoming products namely the GeForce GTX 295 and GeForce GTX 285. It also introduces ambient occlusion as a standard feature-set to enhance lighting effects, and reflections impacting on the realism. All other GPUs GeForce 6 Series onward are supported as usual. The driver is dated for 12-26-2008. The package includes PhysX system software version 8.11.18. Drivers for both 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Windows Vista and Windows XP can be downloaded from the links below. Be cautioned the drivers are unsigned beta versions, the use of which isn't covered by any warranty.

Damn; just as I sold my 8800GT and bought a 4870 >_>

Can anybody with these drivers post a screenshot of the SSAO in action, I'd like to see how well it works + the impact on performance

nice set soon as i get back home after the holidays im gonna try these
i always try out new beta drivers even soem of them are better than the official ones, heck some are just ones that need just signed

I can't seem to get these to download. The download is 110MB and it always "finishes" premature. Once at 7.xMB, another time at 10MB. I'm using the latest Firefox, I'll give IE a shot and see if that makes any difference. Are any other sites hosting the drivers?

I'm going to be posting 180.84 vs 185.2 reviews here as soon as they're done loading.

Damn there is really a significant change, EVERYONE DOWNLOAD NOW !!!

Thanks god that I didn't buy the HD4870 :D

Please no fanboyisms here... keep these kind of threads unbiased.

Are there any release notes for these? There's an issue with my 9800 GX2 and Red Alert 3 with SLI enabled, I was curious if maybe these do something to fix that.

What drivers are you using? I've never had any problems in any of the CNC games... including RA3.

180.48 is what I'm using now, if I have SLI Enabled I get these strange looking textures. Disabling SLI fixes the issue however. Which are you using? RA3 is the only game I have any problems with.

Same.

You have any problems with TW, KW, or Generals? Because I know they're all in the same game engine.
Also, did you purchase the game? Because if it's cracked the crack might be messing you up.

I borrowed my friends legit copy, I have the other games but they're not installed right now. I suppose I can do that later to see.

I can't download it, its gone from their servers, did anyone finished downloading it ?

If so could you please upload it ?

I can't wait T_T

Check the link that binge posted, they still have it. I'm currently downloading it (Failed at 91%. I was so pissed)

Edit: link in my Archive thread still works too. Check sig.

I'm downloading from Xfastest, hopefully it will not finish prematurely like from the links in the news post.

also hopping it will solve freezes in Left4dead

Newtekie's links died too :(

Yahooooooooo I'm the first to finish dowloading it I guess :P

Now to installing :D

Ok, I found a new link but its only the Forceware driver (without the Phyx driver)

http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/

I don't know if those have the PhysX driver or not, I already had 8.11.18, I think it came with the 181 Forceware drivers.

Edit: I just downloaded the ones off laptopvideo2go and extracted them, it does include the PhysX software.

Newtekie's links died too :(

Try them now, I don't think the site liked me linking directly to the exe's.

Worked that time :toast:

Its installed :toast:

Can someone else check this, but I cannot change any of the Program Specific Settings on the Nvidia control Panel with these drivers. I'm on Vista x64.
Global settings work fine, but I cant change Program-Specifics, the drop down are empty!
:wtf:

DAMMIT :(

Setting it to High really takes a lot of fps, I'm setting it to Low.

I tried it in Crysis WarHead and it took around 15+ fps, once I get my GTX260 SSC (55nm) then I think I would be fine at High.
