One more flash products maker - Imation - is announcing solid-state drives that will hit retail market in the US. The fresh S-Class and M-Class Imation drives are both available in 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB capacities, and 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch form factors. For the budget-minded consumer, the M-Class boasts a 150 MB/s read speed and 90 MB/s write speed, and sports a black oxide finish - starting at $189.99. The S-Class drives bump read and write speeds to 130 MB/s and 120 MB/s respectively, but also come at a higher cost that starts from $659.99. Imation SSD drives should already be available through the company's authorized distributors, wholesalers, resellers and e-tailers in the US.

The pricing (for the S model) seems rather high given the (poor) specs ....

Some informations on the controler ?

Not sure of any hardware info, but I know they don't make anything anymore. They just rebrand stuff, they have never made any flash products.

lets just hope that imation did not just concentrate on the looks...

Holy Crap! S-Class would leave a hole in ya pocket.
Maybe these arnt rebranded. . .
Surely they wouldnt be going for such profit margins with the S-Class given the current level of global awareness. Maybe they feel like they have bait. Maybe they are producing them which makes more sence to me. Going to have to look that up.

I'll take the OCZ PCI-e SSD
