They should have put it in a case that had an LED readout like the armband that the Predator uses. Then enemies would say, "OMG Nuke ... RUNNNN!!!!! lol

Some food for thought: without an equally durable monitor, keyboard and mouse, how useful is this?

All that is out there.MArine stuff
Also as to the unprotected ends,so what, they have goo for that, like silicone.not a big deal.

lump has a point, these will be popular in the marine environment.

While marine PC's are nothing new, they probably lack either performance, or waterproofing compared to this thing.

I bet you give one of these to Wile E and he will burn it up in a New York minute.

I was thinking more in terms of taking it scuba diving......

lol to cool this thing, simply drop it in the toilet and flush every now and then!

2K for a atom machine?

Yo Dawg how else you gonna surf porn from your jetski?

I need one of these for my Sportbike so I can play WinAmp while I am out on a mission...all I need is a waterproof touch screen about 7" wide under the front fairing

I can see myself using these at work. Occasionally I am involved with indutrial automation projects where we use PC's and PLC's to operate processing equipment in a VERY dusty environment.

It's an industrial "Rugged Waterproof". It shouldnt need any support staff, or warranty, right? ;)

No the price is high due to the low volumes and expensive sales and marketing channels.

They would be more successful if they had a more comprehensive set of industrial strength connectors (both ends) and apparatus as standard accessories.

you forget ruggedization increases cost and weight.

Maybe if you are extremely short of space in your room you can mount it to your exterior wall and run cables in the window?

ruggedization doesnt always mean Fool Proof, Water proof doesnt make it Weather proof and vice versa.

I think its good to put this on a swimming pool. Imagine the benefits if they managed to release an OC version

Screw that I have a tub freezer ;)

Maybe good for use in any public area? Include a very rugged touchscreen LCD or LCD + Keyboard it could have many many uses.

Eh, whatever, I like this thing. You could leave it submerged in water to help with cooling.
