Gigabyte Radeon HD 5770 Pictured

I dont agree with that at all.. for the extra $$ there is no way a 4890 is worth it.

By the way when is the 5770 supposed to show up?

The 13th at 12:01 AM eastern. At least that's when the 'embargo' is listed.

i'm curious - i'm on the lookout for cards to replace mine, even if its two so long as it has better idle power consumption

we need a TPU review :D

Why wouldn't they price it higher than the 4770? I mean it's more powerful and it has dx11.

I was reading it was gonna be in the $150-199 range and be a replacement for the 4890. The 5750 was gonna be the replacement for the 4870

one other thing I read was it was like 1.6X better than the 4770, but others said it was similar. It will be nice to see what its really like.

The smaller hole to exit air means the air will be moving faster, ala a venturi in a carburettor.

Terrible analogy. Carburettor venturi work by the Bernoulli principle. The "negative pressure" in the cylinder chambers creates a low static pressure in the carborettor which makes a small amount of hydrocarbon "sucked in and mixed" through the venturi into the intake manufold.

The venturi is an ENTRY not an EXIT system.

lol, just got me a 4870 today and i love it.:)

:) I thought you were going to get a GTX260. I just bought a 4890 and am also very happy with it. The new cards look very nice, but I agree with you that the current 4870/4890 are still good buys.

I was going to get one, but i wasn't able to buy online so i went out and found the 4870 was cheaper. So i got it instead, and it was a great pick.:)

small hole to vent out the back though.

Well looking at the pick it has a vent out the back and a vent out the side of the card. So the vent it the back is larger than the rear panel will suggest.
