I don't think it will be easy to get a quad to 4ghz on a 780i board, but if you have the exp and good knowledge of the different voltage settings then you have a chance.

My board is a FTW edition and although I only ran it at 400FSB, Shevanel who had it before me had the Q9550 at 3.8, if you search for threads started by him you can read the suggestions given when he wanted to know if he could hit 4ghz.

My board is a little out of your budget though too. I have it listed locally too.

I had my q9550 to 3.8 running WCG, but the VM i'm running now required me to drop to 3.6 for stability. I do not think 4.0 stable is gonna happen with the 9550's 8.5x multi.
