Some people cant put the video games down for a few days. TBH I take a laptop when Im flying for Movies Mainly. If i dont want to watch whats on the flight or where I am going.

yea and you can use a laptop for work, but an xbox is useless unless you hook it up to a tv and have a power source and what not. maybe the guy is an addict and has to bring his xbox with him at all times.

Personally, when I go on holiday I didn't need to bring a portable console. I wouldn't even dream of bringing my Xbox. I'm not that desperate, I wouldn't want to risk it and to be honest, if I was on holiday I wouldn't need it.

Other than the flight I don't really see need for a console, I can see using a laptop when in the hotel to check Facebook or whatever but that's about it. I'd use my iPod to check my email, Facebook and Twitter but just at the end of a day or whatever.
