Thermaltake Launch Their First Overclocking CPU Cooler, Thermaltake Frio

I believe it would do good on lower wattage CPU's but it doesn't fair well with that CPU atleast.

3.5GHz @ Low: 34C / High: 70C
4.2GHz @ Low: 42C / High: 81C

But it's a fairly high wattage CPU. They should have tried it on something that draws less power IMO for more DRAMATIC EFFECTS if they really want to sell it. Plus the fact they add in 'DESIGNED FOR OVER-CLOCKING ENTHUSIASTS" ..... *sigh

Acctually for the voltage and speed its running, those are good temps for that processor, and should do perfectly fine. with 80c loads.

In the real world i7's can take that heat+ you wont be loading a 1.3ish volts 4.2Ghz i7 at 100% on all cores would you -_-

ALSO WHATS With people saying its running at 3.4-4.0Ghz. In the video they start of at 3.45-3.5Ghz then you can specifically see that they upped it to 4.2 and they enlarge it to see it at 4.228Ghz with loads of 81-80c -_-

Are you guys day dreaming? I watched it in 1080p so...

I saw the same thing. It started out @ 3.45/3.5GHz and upped to 4.2GHz. I watched it in HD too. lol.

yeah Thrermaltake are TROLLIN'!!!!!

I watched the first 4 seconds 5 times before getting over how crappy their slogan was... "Thermaltake! Embrace the future."

I don't care for the cooler. :P

K I'm watching the video now... looks like any other tower cooler with 2 fans in push/pull. They're acting as if any of the features (I use this word very loosely) haven't already been implemented in like what, 100 other coolers?
They're using 1 stick of RAM, I'm assuming, to keep the heat output as low as possible. Pathetic,

I didn't say I would go out and buy the damn thing but facts are facts. AND I'm using an ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro BTW!!!!!! :slap: Does the trick just fine. Under Prime95 with all four cores 100% loaded it only sees 50c and idles at 31c-34c. :pimp:

Frio is spanish for cold not cool.Guess they thought it sounds better. Also how does a particular material translate to flatness, not good machining and qualitycontrol.A company should not treat consumers as total idiots.

Its worse then that!

at the start its at 3.470 ghz! that means at 3.5 ghz its 70C underload.

Pause @ 1:28.

It's 4.2Ghz with 83c max ^^

So still gets outperformed by most other high end coolers?

The Coolink corator ( may of spelt that wrong) is cheaper and is only 1c behind the noctua dh-14, so people should just buy that and teach thermal-take not to make subpar products
