It's just direct and indirect proportion. Where 1.175 or 1/1.175 is the constant. Some people would see it as part of a compound interest, but it's not really.

This isnt Microsofts fault, you can blame retailers in Europe. Microsoft has the same bulk software sale prices for everyone, retailers in Europe always set their price to the MSRP in USD, which almost always translates to Europeans paying more.

Good point, I cannot remember from the first post how much it costs in US$ in the states but many UK airlines are offering £200 return specials to New York, I am guessing here but it really would probably be cheaper to fly to the states at the moment and buy it.

ohhhh and whislt we are there, we can also but a Jaguar car and save 28.5% on the UK retail price!

Lol, I bought my Ms Office 2000 "Premium" edition (4 CD's) in Kuwait back in 1999 for 1 Kuwaiti Dinar......£2 as there were no copyright laws there at the time, things have changed now though.

Strangely enough, I work for a National Charity and our Area Volunteer Chairman who recently retired at 47 was the European and Middle Easter Senior Vice President for Microsoft, he only finished last year and he will be in the office tomorrow so I am going to have a chat with him!
