Earlier this year, Gigabyte surprised us by displaying its first motherboards that use a black-colored PCB, the higher end of its socket LGA1155 motherboard lineup based on the P67 Express chipset, the GA-P67A-UD5 and GA-P67A-UD7; the company's mid-thru-entry range of P67 and H67 based motherboards got their photo-shoot. Pictured below (in order) are the P67A-UD3R, P67A-UD3, and H67MA-UD2H. The P67A-UD3R is the third Gigabyte motherboard to be pictured with a black PCB, it is decked in black overall (slots and connectors), with a dash of white. The LGA1155 socket is wired to four DDR3 DIMM slots for dual-channel memory. Expansion slots include three PCI-E x1, one PCI-E 2.0 x16, one PCI-E x16 (electrical x4), and two PCI.

The P67A-UD3 marks a return to blue PCB (indicating that lower-mainstream Gigabyte motherboards will retain the blue color-scheme. It's is a slightly skimpier version of the UD3R, and probably has the SATA RAID function disabled. Connectivity of this, and the UD3R are nearly identical: 8+2 channel HD audio, two USB 3.0 ports, a number of USB 2.0 ports, two SATA 6 Gb/s and four SATA 3 Gb/s ports. The H67MA-UD2H is a micro-ATX motherboard optimized for processors with on-die graphics, it features the flexible display interface (FDI), with display connectivity including one each of DVI, D-Sub, DisplayPort, and HDMI. Expansion slots include two PCI-E x16 (electrical x16, x4); and two PCI-E x1. Connectivity includes two SATA 6 Gb/s, three SATA 3 Gb/s, one eSATA, 8 channel HD audio with optical SPDIF, two USB 3.0 and a number of USB 2.0 ports. Gigabyte's P67 and H67 series motherboard will launch in early 2011, in time for Intel's latest processor lineup.

Looks good for a mid range board. bad sata placement though

Love the black color one ... :rockout:

Maybe they're going to reserve the right angle SATA ports for UD4 and above.

I'm wanting a blacked out UD5 or similar if these chips turn out to be real decent.

nice waiting for CPU's coming, where are sandy bridge

The black PCB board looks hawt!!:)

Don't care much for Sandy Bridge on the desktop side of things though.

More black Gigabyte boards please!

Does anyone else think that Sandy Bridge is going to be a bit of a disappointment compared to the i3/i5/i7 currently available? Sure, it might be a bit faster, but probably nothing like Presler->Conroe or Wolfdale->Bloomfield.

No, because new tech is always good, unless they screw things horribly, we will be impressed for 1 day (when W1z & co releases review), and then after that business as normal.

Hahaha, I knew it! Gigabyte surrender to black PCBs! =D

Black is for Asus, Gigabyte must remain BLUE

nice boards anyway ^^

Finally gigabyte boards that are aesthetically pleasing, even the blue bits look a lot less washed out than normal. Hopefully that's not just the photography. So when is this stuff supposed to come out? I haven't seen any launch dates, but a ton of press.

I'm gonna hold out for LGA 2011, I think it'll smash 1155. If it doesn't I'm gonna wait until something that's double the speed of my 4GHz i5 750 comes out.

From what I've heard, next month. But I think availability is a different story tho...

Wow Gigabyte trying something other then blue? I'm liking it!

wait a sec, I thought intel has ditched PCI?

This all black is from EVGA motherboards =P

Of course it will but most likely only in certain scenarios. I do beleive the LGA2011 chipset will have support for Quad Channel Memory as well as Dual-QPI link, at least on the Xeon boards that will use the socket. I don't see why the desktop boards won't support the same. Time will tell tho.

Also, the LGA2011 chipset will be reserved for the highest binned Hexacore and Octacore CPUs so they will have more core for the most part and hence more performance. I also read these CPUs will have a massive 20MB Cache on them. :rockout:

Aw. Looks better, but boring. Should have kept the icy blue at least, if not the white.

Same here, although I seriously doubt my CPU is going to need an upgrade in late 2011. Hard life of a HW junkie.

What I do want, though, is a LGA2011 motherboard with Light Peak support.

I don't get it. Is it soooo much expensive to place 90°-angle SATA connector on the mobo? :shadedshu

They're using PCI Express to PCI bridge chips on the boards with PCI slots. So expect one PCI Express lane to be wasted on the PCI slots from now.

P67A-UD3R

Now if they continue this color scheme Gigabyte will actually become a viable option for me again.

Is that a black colored theme board from Gigabyte?? They must have fired their 5 year old color scheme coordinators
