The third in the G1-Killer series of motherboards by Gigabyte to woo the high-end gamer after G1.Guerrilla and G1.Assassin is the G1.Sniper, an LGA1366 motherboard in the ATX form-factor, based on the Intel X58+ICH10R chipset. The G1.Sniper strikes a middle-ground between the relatively-slim G1.Guerrilla, and the fully/over-loaded G1.Assassin. It packs Creative SB X-Fi CA20K2 hardware audio processor with dedicated memory that the G1.Assassin has; but can accommodate up to three graphics cards for 3-way multi-GPU only. It retains the 8+2 phase VRM of the Guerrilla, and is hence still leaning towards being a force-multiplier for gamers than for overclockers. Rest of the feature set is identical to the Guerrilla. You'll either love or loathe the green+black color scheme and the heatsink that looks like an ammo-clip.

Sorry but Green and Black on a Gigabyte motherboard is a no go for me, if I wanted that I would just go EVGA and get a better warranty.

Lol @ gun\clip parts. Give me a heatsink thats proven to work not for silly ass looks.

looks like a rebadge nvidia 780i motherboard! i love the Green and black look. Monster Energy!

Oh, I would SO grammar nazi their ass.

Doesn't anyone care that this is a LGA1366 motherboard?

anyone spotted some electrolyte capacitors?
please tell me that my eyes are deceiving me :banghead:

What do you mean? You don't see them? or you think they are bad?

Well, if you don't see themn, they are there, look again.

If you think they are bad, they are for the on-board audio only, and are generally preferred over solid for audio use.

this much caps are for audio only? didn't know bout that

and if electrolyte is better than solid ones, why creative uses them on the new X-Fi Titanium HD?

Great Board!

Yes, that many caps for only audio. It's a real X-Fi integrated into the motherboard.

And Creative may have used solids on their Titanium HD, but high end makers like Auzentech and HT Omega use electrolytic caps in certain stages of their top end cards.

And so on, and so on.

This is absolutely great. for me it means i do not have to splash for discrete audio.
I still think X58 will be better than P67
Gbyte rock on.

I just found out that the caps used for audio is indeed a top-grade caps, nichicon MUSE ES series Bi-Polarized.

still doesnt like the magazine-like heatsink :D

That I cannot argue with. lol.

it doesn't even look right. the dimensions are all wrong, look at the lines. it's hideous.

.. and the way they stuck it on the board.. kind of like disaligned or something.. ugly. Makes me even wonder if the southbridge is required to even have a heatsink in the first place if they stuck frivolous toy for a heatsink such as that one.

I think that if I want a gun on my computer, Ill get some duct tape.

Looking kiddy :D
My fav mobo brand is Gigabyte... but these ammo magazine looking heatsink and the green black colors are baad :D

maybe gigabyte hired some trigger-happy-form-militia member to design the heatsink.
well, at least we are all (almost) agree that this kind of heatsink style is ridiculous.

Ohh gigabyte finally ends that cheap looks color scheme blue azure white blah ! Hate gigabyte just for that

While I wouldn't say I hate Gigabyte for it I for sure hated the color scheme that made it look as though a baby shower threw up in your case.

yea know what i just thought: transporting this across the border or even trying to get a rig with one on a plane will be a big pain in the ass. not that many people actually take their rigs on planes, but it would most definitely be opened especially since the shoe bomber and the recent shipment of explosives hidden in electronics.

the green scheme looks nice but, what the hell with the heatsink, it just looks crappy, does it works fine to make the chip cooler? why dont they design something that looks better, even generic board has better than that

i agree there's always going to be some asshat that'll put the word sniper and gun looking parts together and think dumb thoughts :shadedshu
