wait what ... you can't use four displays with nvidia 3d vision surround even though you have 4 working outputs ?

so maybe the 3D in 3D Vision stands for 3 Display ?

There is a crysis 2 video at something 2000 resolution ( not 2000, but i forget what it was ) x something in hardcore mode and despite the core clock at 600, well that does not mean anything because the framerate was at 45-60 all the time and that is with vsync enable. So i am sure nvidia knew what they were doing when they put the core at 600, because the other stuff makes up for it.. If you can get 60 frames pretty much all the time at that resolution , well the card does not suck and it may be the fastest card around, but IMO that does not matter.

If you have a video card and can play games at decent framerates at max or near max, whats the problem?

nvidia should just recall this card and beaf up on VRMs and circuitry if they want the card to survive. Unless as mentioned above that its only asus cards then thats asus problem. I wonder what MSI will do with a non reference 590. that could be pretty interesting

1 card is completely a reprisentitive of all cards .. . . right .. . I mean the 4870 X2 was perfect also ? At least it's not the drivers that sucked in this case?

But there has been cases that NON overclocked GTX590's died also, so yes there is a flaw in these cards.

I think both the 6990 and the 590 should be retested in about 3-4months time with better drivers etc, this then will tell us who is king of the hill??

I so agree with that both cards should be retested in 3-4 months
I think what happened here was Nvidia saw AMD's release and didn't want to come out 3 months later with a 1-3% overall better card so they took some Ex-lax and tried for a smooth move but in the end they still ended up with shit.
