It's automatic on if you have dropbox set to auto sync but still not nearly as seamless and far-reaching as this is meant to be. It goes well above and beyond files that you choose to put in your "Dropbox folder". Obviously not "for everyone" though and could be improved.

i think the point for this is less about file storage, and more about backing up your apple ap purchases, contacts and so on.


they want to remove the need for an iphone user to need a PC or mac to set it up, sync, etc.

It's a step towards true real-time syncing between all your devices so you can just keep doing what you were doing. I generally go from phone -> desktop -> tablet in the hours after work and before sleep, it's pain to maintain the flow of browsing/watching/tweeting.
