NVIDIA released its latest set of WHQL-signed GeForce drivers, GeForce 285.58 WHQL for Windows XP, and GeForce 285.62 WHQL for Windows 7 and Vista. The new drivers bundle PhysX system software v9.11.06.21, and feature the following [very] important changes:
  • NVIDIA recommended driver for Battlefield, as it contains several performance and compatibility enhancements for the final release of the game.
  • NVIDIA recommended and enhanced driver for Batman: Arkham City and RAGE
  • Fixes reports of occasional driver timeouts while browsing the web
At the outset this is the driver to have before you unpack your copy of Battlefield 3, Batman: Arkham City, and RAGE, three of the biggest titles of this fall.

DOWNLOAD: GeForce WHQL 285.62 and WHQL 285.58

As it seems as it seems there's a slight typo thar :> I hope there's more in these drivers than game improvements.

Next time send him a PM, there is no need for this kind of posts here; it's frowned upon and this is not a grammar forum. :shadedshu

Driver timeouts while web browsing...oh so thats what that is! Was wondering why Firefox would just suddenly seize up for a moment while watching flash vids. Sometimes the browser itself would go all one color for a moment too.

Having that issue with ATI as well

nice Battlefield 3 coming tomorrow! can't wait

Sweet! I hope these run good.

Hellloooo AMD?

http://www.geforce.com/News/articles/nvidia-geforce-285-62-whql-drivers-released

Apparently optimized for 500-series cards.

I wonder if these would be worthwhile for my GTX460s?

This is what I found:

Performance

  • Increases performance for GeForce 400 and 500-series GPUs in several PC games vs. v280.26 WHQL drivers. The following are some examples of improvements measured on Windows 7. Results will vary depending on your GPU and system configuration:

NVIDIA didn't list any results for 400-series cards, just the 580 and 560.

I saw that also, but as I am using the 285.58 Quadro drivers, I suppose there are no benefits to using 285.62?

Will have to download and install tonight to get ready for BF3:toast:

Hellloooo AMD?

As someone who hasn't downloaded any of the Beta drivers when the BF3 Beta was running, I'm slightly fidgeting in my seat as well. :p

GOT THEM, THANKS. but before BF3 I wanted to watch MEdia CEnter recordings, no only audio, no video at all....

3D Vision Drivers don't work with Skype

Tried driver's tonight and did not work with Skype. Uninstalled, then did custom install without 3D driver package. Skype then worked.

Am trying with Folding@Home, will see.

I find it ironic that my browser crashed while I was searching for the new driver which is supposed to fix the browser crashing :nutkick:

Flash problem maybe?

Well, just played through single player. I dunno why some of the early reviews knocked it a little. Found it very enjoyable. Maybe its because its not super long that they knocked it. ~5-6hrs. Lot of very visually stunning moments. Tiny bit of repetition in parts, clear enemies, move on, rinse, repeat. You'll want things set to high or ultra to enjoy them. No way a console could do the same visuals.

But I enjoyed the story a lot better than I have others. Didn't feel cookie cutter like BC2 or MW. Actually got to feel for the characters more like I did with BC1. There was just one sequence that is questionable which makes me think they had to cut something else, but I won't spoil it.

Performance...seemed better than in beta on my dual 460s. Still slight hiccups at times likely due to my other hardware limitations. The game in auto recommends me to High settings without FSAA. I turned them all up to Ultra with 2x MSAA. Didn't really see anything that was unplayable. FPS were pretty solid aside from the momentary hiccups.

Found a few bugs still in game. But overall I didn't see many. DICE seems to have really worked hard to get things good for launch.

was able to play without these, but with them saw about 10 FPS gain.

UPDATE: Folding@Home going ok.

Turned off driver auto install in Windows 7 and did clean "custom" install without 3D driver package.

Seemed to give my 470's about an extra 200 PPD each anyone else see anything similar.
