AMD has just launched the new Radeon HD 7700 series, in a bid to cement its competitiveness in the sub-$200 market-segment. The Radeon HD 7700 series, according to AMD, is designed to offer "the world's most advanced graphics for everyone." The series is based around a new ASIC built on the 28 nm fab process, codenamed "Cape Verde". The new chip takes advantage of the Graphics CoreNext architecture, and features 10 GCN compute units, amounting to 640 stream processors; 40 TMUs, and 16 ROPs; and a 128-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface.

The Radeon HD 7770 has all components on the chip enabled, and features clock speeds of 1000 MHz core, and 1125 MHz (4.50 GHz GDDR5 effective) memory, yielding 72 GB/s memory bandwidth. This card draws power from a 6-pin PCIe power connecor. The Radeon HD 7750, on the other hand, features 512 stream processors, and 32 TMUs. The rest of the specifications are identical to the HD 7770, except core clock speed: 800 MHz. The Radeon HD 7770 is priced at US $159, while the HD 7750 is available as low as $109.

wow, an x700 series card with no PCIe connector? I've found my new HTPC card ;)

maybe im just reading it fast but performance seems to be all over the place (maybe i need that VerdeTrol)

AMD should better release new Drivers for 7xxx Series then releasing new cards..........

For me thats just a Joke what they are doing. They offer such nice Hardware but their software (drivers) are horrible :banghead:

For standart users in office their drivers may work but if you want some more...............im sitting on my 7970 CF and never had so many different problems with gaming, desktop arrangement, profiles and so on...................

Please Nvidea release Kepler fast........so i am able to switch.................

7750 for the polar bear lovers...nice job amd

That was my thought too. Very weird.

HD 7970, 7950, 7770, 7750 already out.

Drivers used still beta.

I'll just wait for the nVidia offerings and buy a damn card already, it's been 6 months since I had a gaming PC. I'd like to try out the green side, but their cards offer some poor performance per watt. Shell out a card with only one 6pin connector and the performance of the 6850 and I'll buy it day one.

2 problems I see with this card 1) 128 bit and 2) Price. For being a 128 bit based card the cost for this card needs to be at least $20 to $30 cheaper IMO.

These are going to be supply constrained for a while so the price doesn't matters... to AMD. The price will also help to move old stock.
