DICE has announced three new content packs to be released for Battlefield 3. According to Shacknews, Close Quarters will be the second expansion pack for DICE's shooter, with one week exclusivity on PS3. But what can you expect from it? The infantry-focused add-on will expand the online mode with four new maps and ten more weapons. A first-look at the new content showed an indoor apartment environment and a penthouse suite. The close quarters gameplay did a great job of showing off Frostbite 2's destructive capabilities, as walls were quickly being torn apart by gunfire. But that's not the only piece of DLC EA announced last night. There are two more expansion packs coming. ""Back to Karkand set the bar for what an expansion pack should be," DICE general manager Karl Magnus Troedsson said. "It's so much more than just a new map. We're trying to theme all our expansion packs." Wheres Close Quarters will focus on tight infantry battles, the next add-on will focus on vehicular combat. "Armored Kill" will add new vehicles and boast the "biggest maps DICE has ever created... for a very Battlefield experience." Finally, DICE announced "End Game." Unfortunately, that's all they're saying about the (seemingly) final piece of the Battlefield 3 post-release puzzle. "It's a secret right now," Troedsson teased.

Sounds to me from the brief description is they are using some of the COOP indoor maps. Isn't too bad. My P90 senses are tingling at the thought of it :D.

I WANT MY 2143 ADD ON!! I seen the easter egg on wake island :P

EA ROLLS OUT THREE THEMED EXPANSION PACKS FOR MULTI-PLATINUM BATTLEFIELD 3

The next expansion packs are: Battlefield 3: Close Quarters in June, Battlefield 3: Armored Kill in the fall, and Battlefield 3: End Game in the winter.

· Battlefield 3: Close Quarters – In Battlefield 3: Close Quarters, players are dropped into a frantic, infantry-only theatre of war. Frostbite 2 high definition destruction makes the environment come alive as everything from furniture to plaster gets shot to pieces. Players will feel the intensity of the world exploding around them as rubble and broken pieces pile up on the floor, while tight level design and vertical gameplay create a highly competitive environment. Battlefield 3: Close Quarters also introduces new weapons, assignments and unique dog tags to bring back to the base game.

· Battlefield 3: Armored Kill– Following the tight infantry gameplay of Battlefield 3: Close Quarters, DICE will release Battlefield 3: Armored Kill that ups the ante for vehicular mayhem as only Battlefield can do. Featuring new driveable tanks, ATVs, mobile artillery and more, Battlefield 3: Armored Kill also delivers huge battlefields for an all-out vehicle assault, including the biggest map in Battlefield history.

· Battlefield 3: End Game – The fourth expansion pack will ship in the winter but details remain tightly guarded.

· Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand –Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand is available now for download for £11.99 or 1200 Microsoft points and features four of the most beloved Battlefield 2™ maps (Strike at Karkand, Gulf of Oman, Wake Island and Sharqi Peninsula), all fully re-imagined utilizing the power of the Frostbite 2 engine.

Patrick Bach, Executive Producer, Battlefield 3 said, “Instead of delivering piecemeal map packs, we’re giving players a completely new experience with every themed expansion pack to keep the action fresh. Our expansions are designed to excite our large and active fan base while attracting new recruits with gameplay that is dynamic and unpredictable every time.”

Before rolling out another DLC, could you please fix the blue screen of death issue?

Seriously? There is no BSOD issue. I told you in your thread to fix your damn overclock.
I didn't overclock....except for my CPU, and it is very stable.

no bsod issue xD

like there is no random bf3.exe has stopped working issues or just crash to desktop issues or hanging between rounds issues either.

game is still a buggy pos and needs fixing before they get more of my money.

Thats exactly what I just told him to do in his own thread about this.

I didn't overclock....except for my CPU, and it is very stable.

Yes I meant CPU not GPU and as I said in your thread my money is on "apparently not".

But this is the DLC thread so lets go back on topic please...

3rd DLC has promise, Close Quarters could be good if they really go crazy with the destruction.

Um thats YOUR problem not the games. BF3 isnt what you call stable but its not BSOD prone. What it will do is work a system over like no other game. If you system isnt 100% stable BF3 will find out. Its more stressful on a rig then memtest and Intelburn combined as its real world. I bet your BSOD is driver related. Go back to your fix it thread and follow the directions I gave you.

Looking forward to BF3:CoD and more looking forward to the Armored version and Endgame.

The close combat will remind me more of goldeneye 007 than COD.

Looks like a cross between CS and COD to me not impressed

Not impressed by that video either. WTH man? This means I have to wait till fall for some new bf maps :( Well they might surprise me yet with this although I'll tell you the 2 maps I play least and that's Sienne Crossing and Metro. Vee Vill see, Vee Vill see.......

Fantastic! More stuff that should have been included in the original $60 purchase price.
