Epic Games Has A PC-Exclusive In The Works

Get this - Epic Games is working on a PC-exclusive. This teaser was released by Cliff Bleszinski and Mike Capps of Epic Games, at PAX East. "We might be working on a PC-only title," said Bleszinski. "Let me say that again: we are working on a PC game," Capps added. Capps told Joystiq that the project is currently underway, and that Epic Games intends to keep it PC-exclusive. This fits into the scheme of recent developments at Epic Games. Epic unveiled its latest Unreal Engine 4, with demos that made the most bleeding-edge PC hardware sweat, and so it is only apt that the first game will serve as a technology demonstrator, and will probably offer jaw-dropping visuals that make use of the resources today's gaming PCs can expend.

Unreal Tournament 4? Everyone on consoles is too busy gawking at Call of Duty, Halo, and/or Gears of War to have time for UT4. The fans of UT have always been on PC and that is the title they usually use as a tech demo for their engine. It would also allow them to release Unreal Engine 4 before the next-gen consoles are out which gets the sales going for the engine.

If not UT4, it's probably a brand new title.

I think this is pretty epic news. Finally a dev house has the balls to cater to PC gamers that have been requesting better games than the shitty console port we've been getting for years.
I hope this will be the Quake 3 of this century.

Could be just rats... PC only segment is like dead. No one making properly supported PC games, no one is making good old fun racing games on PC anymore, we don't get ports of specific legendary games on PC (Project Gotham Racing, Burnout, Gran Turismo, Forza).
I mean c'mon, everyone just makes some crappy shooters on consoles and then port them to PC and thats that. Bah.

I wish they would make ports of Gears of War 2 and 3 for PC, as I loved the first one. Yes, I bought Gears of War one on PC and loved it. Sadly I suffered through 2 on a 360 and the game look so terrible lol. To bad they wont heck Bulletstorm looked so good on the PC it was was if it were a different game compared to the console counter part.

A PC-only game? At this point I think very few people would have thought that would happen.

I certainly didn't see this coming from Epic after they said they would only create new engines when consoles jump to a new generation.
