One aspect of NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 670 that blew us away, was its unusually short PCB for a high-performance GPU. NVIDIA's reference board still ended up being of average length, because NVIDIA's lateral-flow cooling assembly protruded beyond the PCB's length. AIC partners such as ZOTAC realised that custom-design graphics cards with short PCBs can be made to stay short, by opting for top-flow cooling solutions, something it materialised with the new GTX 670 TwinCooler (model: ZTGTX670-2GD5TCR001/ZT-60305-10P).

Pictured below, the GTX 670 TwinCooler from ZOTAC is short (about 60 mm shorter than NVIDIA reference design card). It uses a dense aluminum fin heatsink to cool the GK104 GPU, memory, and VRM. The heatsink is ventilated by two 80 mm fans. The card needs just a tiny bit more than two expansion slots in your system, it appears like it won't block the third expansion card slot. Despite its diminutive form, the card is factory-overclocked, with 954 MHz GPU clock, 1033 MHz GPU Boost, and 6208 MHz memory (against reference speeds of 915/980/6008 MHz). It draws power from two 6-pin PCIe power connectors, outputs include two dual-link DVI, and one each of HDMI and DisplayPort. It will be launched on the 20th of June.

I like the industrial looks. Too bad fans are orange. If they were shiny silver (metallic like) it would be great, like an industrial air conditioning cooler box :D

Shame they had to give it that extra depth. Any card beneath it will block its airflow entirely.
 
The reference cooler is best for not spending wattage for the spin of coolers.
The designed coolers are better for the dba lowering and cooling better.
But this GTX 670 seems really good

Actually the reference fans often consume more power than non-reference fans due to being high RPM blowers ;)
It is likely that the reference blower consume more power than those 2 fans on the Zotac.

I don't think SLI will work too well with these. The heat will skyrocket with two side by side.

It shouldn't matter. Those black frames are cosmetic. The fans really are just screwed onto the heatsink (slip a screwdriver between the blades to get to them).

You can't replace those on any other card really... lightning, OC2, none of the custom cards have replaceable fans, same here.

Now they should fit a GTX680 on one of those PCBs. It would be nice if such short PCB were the longest available, they should make it stranded.
 
Don't know how I missed this. Been waiting for cards that take advantage of the short PCB.

To think this little fella can give a 7970 and a 680 a run for their money, that's just cool. :D
 
yea id like to pair this with a Mini ITX Z77 and a cheap 2500k clock the dog snot out of it with an AIO liquid cooler in a tiny ass case, would be one hell of a frag box.
