Thermal Solutions specialist GELID Solutions launches the cutting-edge "GC-Extreme" thermal compound with a net content of 10g. It contains the same material as the multi-winning "GC-Extreme 3.5g" and varies in net content only.

Clearly you haven't tried it.
It does not turn into glue and it's some of the better TIM I've used, but hey, whatever, you stick with what you like and I'll stick with what I like, fair enough?
 
GC-extreme is very well regarded, especially with the subzero crowd. Good replacement for OCZ freeze and much more consistent. Not sure I'd want to scoop it out of a container though.
 
For some reason i prefer to stick with MX-2 or MX-4 solutions...
 
Do not adjust your display properties, the label really is that shade of green unsuitable for human eyesight.

I am useing those and they are pretty great. Tuniq is better in all tests I have seen, but was unable to get some last time I purchased tim.

Not that ive found. using both the MX-2 and AS5 for my hardware. one is the most comfy to apply and the other is simply the best performer out there after a week of use

3-5 degrees is significantly better in the world of good thermal compounds I think...;) See for yourself. But price matters also and until your compound is finished I don't think you should bother at all.

my icd turned into stones and scratched my lapped cpu and heatsink, i would take a sticky glue anyday.
 
I bouht a bunch of AS5 tubes some years ago and I still have plenty left. :laugh:
 
Still going strong with as5 here too, haven't seen any reason to switch to anything else.

The leader on that chart is the cheap toss in stuff that came with an old cooler. It can't even be purchased. I'm inclined to think their testing is flawed.

50/50 Mayo, Mustard mixed WELL is best.
 
have been waiting for GC-Ultimate for a long time, GC-Extreme is currently one of the best compounds for sub-zero.
 
Anyone tried Indigo extreme with sub zero temps? It works great at normal application temp but requires special installation.
 
why is there no proper TIM reviews? :(
ive checked a couple and the differences between them are insane...
some test with artificial heat load testers, some with actual cpus, some with gpus, some test in a heat chamber, some at ambient temp with huge variations and then show delta to ambient temp but thats still flawed...

its even hard to spot general trends among all those reviews and roundups, some have A come out way ahead of B, some have it the other way around... :/
I guess it doesnt help that there seem to be HUGE variations in TIM quality from a couple of vendors...
that in itself would be worth an article/review, buying different batches of time from different places and checking how much they vary...

would be cool if somebody could come up with a proper TIM roundup, compared them all the same way, within a few days or weeks, ideally with an actual CPU at stock and then overclocked. subzero tests would be the cherry on top of the cream, but hey now im really asking for too much, i know :P

It takes too much time and effort. It's just not worth it for something so cheap.
