i wonder where the source photos were taken. i remember reading it somewhere...was it Guam or something? This game looks amazing. Im gonna have to seriously upgrade/rebuild a new hardcore system from the ground up.

Screenshots are too small, and with no info for the comparisons; ie weather their side by side examples of DX10 vs DX9 rendering, I find it very difficult to be impressed.

Im impressed (I save filed it to my desktop to get a closer view, kinda pixelated though).

I dont know anything about rendering really (how long the picture takes to change?), but I like the shadows and life likeness, can go for a walk on the beach at home it seems now.

I duno, i expected more from them, DX10 has so much growing room, i hope this inspires other game companies to release better games, and code them correctly, so they can utalize all these dual and quad core CPUs.

crysis can be played with a 'high end dx9 rig' btw.
about those pics!, they're freakin real!! A dx9 render can't battle them for long.

Dude... all these were done with DX9 renders...

Better shader utilisation = better graphics. Doesn't matter if its SM 4.0, or 3.0 if its not utilised properly you will have problems.

Crytek uses so much time in utilising the new and old technology to the fullest of its potential.

i know this shit always happens. we get some awesome screenshots/renderings/video and we never know if its dx10 or dx 9 or if its screen shot or a rendering. what cards were used. what FPS it was taken at. give us some damn details!!!
