Unreal Tournament 3 Screenshot emerged

New information regarding the formerly named Unreal Tournament 2007 multiplayer game are next to inexistent these days. Midway, the publisher of UT 3 which ought to come this year to PCs and consoles, revealed a single 'screenshot' this week. Rumor has it the pictures are rendered and not actual in-game shots so keep that in mind when judging on the very detailed characters and surroundings.

You might be right. Backround looks like in-game as the branches disappear in some places, like it does everygame without EATM. Never seen any dude in-game stop and grin at the camera, so he's propably just put on top there and is talking something in intro (or used somewhere else). Anyways, textures look nice and the level is kewl, if it'a an actual one.

Typically screenshots of games do not show any type of aliasing effects.

Did you zoom in on the picture. Remember, browsers often show a smaller version of a picture causing jagged edges. If you click on the picture a second time it will zoom. The antialiasing doesn't look that bad to me.

Its a beautiful screen shot. Id love to get a shot at this when it comes out. Ive never played Unreal tournament before. I would definately play this one though. I think its also coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360 right?

It uses the same engine as gears of war. So it should look as good, or slightly better than that.

UT3 is on my wish list for sure. I am wishing that it is playable on lower end systems (like ET:QW)...UT3 is probably the biggest next gen game to support almost all new hardware technolgy such as X-ram, physx cards, dx10, multi thread duals and quads (and possible octa)...

The texture detail is insane, but the geometry isn't that incredible. The effects look nice though, judging from earlier screenshots and things, this is completely plausible.

A lot of games seem to be creating walkers straight out of War of the Worlds, or at least very similar. UT07 and C&C3 to name some off the top of my head.

There is no way that will be in game, those "screenshots" are always doctored up to be perfect. The prerelease God of War 2 shots were flawlessly antialiased, impossible on the PS2.

Those shots have been re-amped, check out the in-game videos @ ign, I dont see those effects that i see in these screenies. Plus the gibs looks different.
