Yes, because it totally makes sense to have 265 DPI for a Windows laptop on a 13.3" screen. I wonder if you can increase the Windows's scalling DPI that much, not to mention the close to 0 possibility of playing any games on native resolution.

With GTX 880M and i7-4940MX, you should be able to play BF4 at 3200x1800 with "High" preset and no-AA just fine. Any game made on Unreal (console port), will run at that resolution with full eye-candy just fine.

I doubt it, but definitely not with a 860M GPU.
 
You're not meant to game at 3200x1800, you're meant to game at 1600x900 and upscale it. Then outside of games you have a higher DPI screen.

He is right, it's meant to be 1:2, on 13" it'll be fine, almost maxing out everything

So you're supposed to pay all that money just to upscale 900p?

That sounds like a waste of money to me. Why didn't they just stick with a 1080p screen. Probably eat less energy and brighter too.

It's a goddamn portable workstation with a high resolution display, not a gaming laptop. Just because you can game at its native resolution doesn't mean it's a good idea with its spec, so you upscale 900p to get the frame rates and quality you desire. Outside of that, you have an incredible screen to do work on.
 
will someone PLEASE fix the title? the laptop has the 860m, NOT the 880m.

The title says 880M, yet the PR and specs mention the 860M only, the new 14" Blade sports a 870M which is much faster than a 860M, I don't think you can use an 880M in such a small chassis.

ummm...no. it is a gaming laptop, and is marketed as such by clevo, the OEM responsible for them. workstations come with quadro or firepro cards, NOT geforce cards.

Everybody is saying the same thing over and over again, but none of you actually seen in reality how this 1:2 or 1:4 works. In theory you are right, but in practice is a mess. I have seen live and compared next to each other a 4K TV and an 1080p TV, same size. The 1080p desktop on a 4K TV was a disaster compared to the native one;
Also, just to end this, I have tried the same scaling thing with both Samsung ATIV B9 and Asus Zenbook, using half the resolution in games, and....no way Jose. ;)
