ZOTAC Gives the GeForce GTX 980 Ti a Massive 25% Factory Overclock

Fury is going to be brand new, and maybe a game changer.

I will believe it, when I see it... ... and even then walk around it 3 circles and be doubting.

Ha-Ha! I ~said~ maybe!

The reason why I think that the use of HBM memory by AMD may change the landscape significantly is that NVIDIA is pursuing it too.
If both of them see it as good, it probably is.

It's ludicrous they didn't use this PCB and overclock on their Arctic Storm model.

Wait, the AS 980 ti is going to use the reference pcb?

This is coming from someone who has owned the product for a week.

The card is incredibly silent which i couldn't believe at all. I would still occasionally open my case just to make sure my ears are not deaf.

The overclocking potential is impressive. Out of the box it can boost more than 1400mhz while keeping temperature in the 69-71 degrees range when playing crysis 3. Without adjusting the voltage, you can easily add another 150mhz with the boost hitting close to 1600mhz.

What more can one ask for?

I will be surprised if they don't have a high tdr / crash rate with a 25% clock boost.
I know a guy who had a GTX680 with a heavy factory overclock that didn't run stable, until he manually downclocked it to where it didn't crash.

Credibility.
You're new here and made 1 post.
I have never felt the need to post anything until now because this Zotac 980 ti extreme is a great upgrade from my previous sapphire 290 tri-x crossfire. Besides, its my first Zotac product. My previous Nvidia card was an Inno 3D Geforce 6600 and I have used the 4870x2, 5970 subsequently.

I own a zotac 970 extreme edition, same card just with a 970 in it. It does run that quiet, it does run very very cool (~65c under load). That part is all pretty accurate. I don't know about the 980ti, but for the 970 and 980 overclocking potential was severally limited by having voltage locked below what other manufacturers allowed. By that I mean that an asus card, or almost any other card, by default had higher voltages and could potentially overclock higher.

After using it for a week below are my true observations.

1) no coil whine.
2) no fan noise unless you put your ears beside the gpu with the case open.
3) temperature at max 72 degrees at a room temperature of 27 degrees
4) clocks are extremely stable, maximum boost is 1418mhz on Nvidia inspector
5) no freezes, no crashes, no lock ups except in GTA V
6) completed furmark at extreme presets.

All this while playing

crysis 1/2/3/warhead.
battlefield bfbc/3/4.
wolfenstein NO/OB.
company of heroes 2,
dying light.
farcry 3/4.
half life 2/BM.
hawx 2
Gta 4/5
metro 2033/LL redux
call of duty 1/2/3/bo1/bo2/aw/ghost/waw
ace combat AH
CSGO
ACBF
Metal Gear Rising
Left4Dead 2

Well even if I am not credible, at least Guru3D or maybe hardware canucks is?

I am sorry if it seemed otherwise, but I was trying to say you were not uncredible(Think I just made that up). Your words for the most part matched my experience with my zotac card. Post count does should not matter for credibility, because anybody can post under a new account name. Posts like caring1's were trying exclude you from this community, when if anything it is better for tpu to be inclusive.

Thanks. I just want to declare that this is a great product; like anyone else, I too have doubts but i trusted the reviews. I am glad that I didn't regret this purchase as it was unavailable in my country and I took the trouble to approach the supplier for it.

Excuse me, I was trying to do no such thing!
I find that comment to be rather rude.
Everyone is welcome, but I am less likely to believe someone that has just joined and in their first post is extolling the virtues of a product.

Settle down.

We were all newbies, let's have some patience before we hammer someone's post's.

Intent is often difficult to imply through text in a Forum. Remember that and try to give people's post's the benefit of Humor.

Jumping on should be left to those who have the authority and/or the time in here.

Let's all just try and get along, or, try harder to!!

Thanks for your impartiality. Based on my system specs, I am still not having any issues with my new card. Originally, my posts were meant to clarify the integrity of the card but its up to anyone to accept it.
