Yeah, you caught me mid-edit.

XFX Kingpin lol

welcome back 290X
funny people with funny comments.
Most of you don't know about binning,
but I'll throw here that 290x is at 290 watt tdp and this one is at 200 tdp.
Not exactly a rebrand right?

:slap::laugh::slap:

Mantle is used on the Nintendo Wii ??? :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
And that's without the only slightly less obvious marketing fail that the Xbox One doesn't use Mantle ( DirectX 11.x), and neither does the PS4 (GNM and GNMX)

according to http://m.hexus.net/tech/news/industry/78757-amd-switching-28nm-process-globalfoundries-2015/ and http://www.techpowerup.com/mobile/2...o-globalfoundries-28-nm-shp-node-in-2015.html, amd has switched to glofo, then we can expext some improvement over the predecessor. in my view r9 390 is a new chip.
Yea I read those back in the day(s) and while I'd love to hold out hope to them switching, I just don't know. I keep thinking if AMD did jump to GloFo then, I'm sure TSMC wouldn't want to spill the beans and look bad. While I'm sure GloFo and employees would love to have this news out, but positive they have been told and know better... as "lose lips sink ships". Although I think it would be super difficult to keep it "under wraps" at this point.

If we saw the "best of all worlds" they've have taped-out both a Trinidad and Granada in GCN 1.2, and went with GloFo 28nm SHP process. If they did, it would be one heck of a trick holding those card that close to their chest for so long. And even if still the same old Pitcairn/Hawaii that does mean they are not re-brand. But switching foundries would mean paying for a new tape-out, so hold to the older GCN cores would seem a waste. I don't think there would a huge engineering cost to make such designs conform to the GCN 1.2.

I doubt they'd try Fiji at GloFlo, it's to risky on something that big I would think
