haven't been there for long time not since TPU was hacked a long while back
and password change was mandated
once upon a time you could use your TPU name and password ( not so now i believe as mine no longer works )

I haven't used it for years so I didn't even notice it. Gives me a 503 error at the moment.

@dorsetknob It always had a separate login to TPU if I remember correctly. I happened to create the same username for continuity though.

Prior to 2009 it was the same password as TPU...GN became it's own entity and required a password.

I know, it's pretty irritating when a website you like to frequent, especially a forum, is down for an extended time. Hopefully it will be back soon.

It's been down for a few days, w1zz shut it down after finding out a hack attempt had partially succeeded, and installed some scripts intended to steal user logins. No evidence it succeeded yet.

There is group chats behind the scenes with w1zz sorting out what to change when its brought back.

The hack made it clear it needs an update, which is why it wasnt as simple as restoring a backup.

With how dead, and tame it was we should just migrate it here to a password, or minimum post limit protected part of the forum. I used to mod at a forum (years ago) where it was much the same, 5000 posts or a good reputation to get access to special subforums.

Just the times I imagine, vBulletin was around a very long time and it was used by alot of sites. You can only be around so long before everything shows though. Thats how things work. Xenforo will meet the same fate I imagine, I like xenforo though very progressive. The looks of VB and its ilk were starting to show their age as much as there CSS makeup.

Vbulletin's downfall is their own doing. I've used Vb 1,2, and 3. Vbulletin got purchased by Internet Brands and they ruined it and kicked out the old guards.

Now, the core Vb dev of version 3 are at Xeonforo.
