Can My PSU Run This System???

Hey Guys I Have A pretty old gpu but I'm thinking of buying one... BUT. .. I'm not sure if my PSU can handle it. ..I don't intend to overclock anything. ..

Specs are
CPU: Fx6300
GPU:
Asus GTX660TI DC2 OC 2Gb(previously : 5870 HD)
Ram: 8gb Ram Ballisticx 1666mhz
Motherboard:
Asus M5A78L-M LE/USB3 AMD760GSKAM3+

Can This PSU run the system above? ??

If you had a HD 5870 before and you've switched it out for a GTX 660 Ti, then yes. Definitely.

Just looking at the TDP of both cards, it's 188w for the HD 5870 and 150w for the GTX 660 Ti.

That card uses the same power or less than a 5870:

A CX430 is on the low end to run either card- a decent 500w psu would be my recommendation.

If you don't know don't answer. .. I was testing you guys. .. This can never run a gtx 660 ti. .. because it doesn't support 2x6 pin connector ;-) ....

That part is easy.

The HD 5870 requires two PCIe 6-pin connectors as well. Like I said, if you had a HD 5870 working before, a GTX 660 Ti will work fine too.

It may have run the system with a 5870. But you didn't stress the system to its potential.

I would get a better PSU. The CX430 is an ok PSU for a mid range PC but your pushing it to its limnit.

But i have seen the CX430's outputs and like all...(oh wait VS series exists) well most, corsair PSUs they have good AMP output on the 12V rail.

Your PSU gives out 32amps on the 12volt ,The reference 660ti requires 24amps so the correct answer is YES is will run ,with an molex to 6pin adapter

Yep, the wife has a system with an Intel 1156 i7-860 and its running a HD6870 using this type of adapter. Same power supply.
